Have ITV stoped us copying
I bought Videoredo over christmas.
I recorded Above suspicion off ITV1 the 3 episodes, and tonight with a hard drive formatted fat33 I could not copy them, so I can transfer them to my computer, they are not over 4GB each episode also they are not HD, yet they fail to copy. I have another hard drive formatted the linux way and they do copy OK. is it something ITV have done to stop it? How do I get them into Videoredo, as Windows 7 will not recognise them with it formatted the linux way. Thanks. |

I recorded them SD off ITV1, and yet they are failing to copy.
The Miss Marpel new ones over Christmas copied OK. |

I have tried a hard drive and a USB flash drive formatted fat32 and both with the same result, recording failed.
Something different I done this time is, I renamed them before trying to copy them, I added a 1, 2, 3 to each title so I new what one was first and so on. |

Read this before. renaming the files apparently has a bug. Can you replay the files normally after renaming or did you add anything between the filename and the number.

I just added a number after making a space between them, I have not tried playing them yet, so, that could be the problem, that will learn to be clever.
I am glad that ITV have not done something to stop copying, after listening over Christmas to what they intend to do regarding fast forwarding the adverts. |

How long are the filenames? Windows does not handle long filenames well.
There is a limit of 255 characters wich includes the path. I hit this issue a while ago on a mates PC. Windows will allow saving but no other operations such as move, copy etc |

Redtuc when I am trying to copy them it's an issue with the Humax box, as we have not reached windows at that point.
I have tried taking the numbers out, no joy, they do play OK. When you mentioned renaming I thought lets try and deleted every thing apart from the words Above Suspicion. And they are now copying OK. Thanks Graham you are worth your weight in Gold on this site. |
