I am currently working on an assignement at university about how new mobile technology has affected journalism and how it will affect it in the future.

For anyone with a smart phone, I was just wondering how many of you have a news application,
How many of them do you have?
How often do you use them?
and if you use them more than other sources for news.

any response would be a great help

I installed a few on Android but they were all too limited to worth bothering with being free.
edit -this included a couple of news feed apps

I either just use the beeb or newsnow.net on the browser
I just can't see the point in yet another app in place of something served equally as well on a web browser.

I found a great free app that links to about 20 Italian newspapers so I can keep in touch with all the news without having to buy Italian papers in the UK at £1.50 a pop.

iPhone.

Use the BBC app and also have an RSS app to read updates and articles from the various media/news sites that I'm subscribed to.
