This is my preferred supper of choice, and trust me it's a bomb.

Make yourself a cheese butty, not the most difficult of culinary tasks. I prefer strong mature cheddar on soft Hovis wholemeal. Now for the difficult part, open a can of Heinz Cream of Tomato Soup and follow the directions on the can to heat it.

Place soup in bowl, bowl on a pate and cut the butty into two halves (I go diagonal for ease of dipping). Then sit down and enjoy. Just don't forget to dip your butty into the soup for maximum pleasure.

It's my favourite combo as well, although I prefer to make my own soup and have a nice mature Gouda on the butty.
There's nothing that can beat this.

Well, the post was meant to be humourous, but I guess that didn't come across.

People can post wherever they like though, you know.

You are missing out the most important part. Freshly ground black pepper into the soup!

Best not, inferior forms of tomato soup might put you off the real thing. Best just wait and keep the tin to throw at the police the next time you are in a riot.

It's probably the huge amount of salt they add.

Although the tomato soup and dunking cheese sandwich is a lovely lunch I've never understood the allure of HEINZ tom soup. I like any other type of bought or home made tomato soup but not this one. To me it tastes SO strong and with a really artificial taste that doesn't resemble tomatoes to me at all. It tastes of something completely different and strange.

My son likes it though so what can you do, I still buy it sometimes!

I'd agree with that.
It does not taste remotely like tomatoes in any way, shape or form. That said, I have a soft spot for it, probably for nostalgic purposes because I used to love it as a child. I occasonally have it now. With the aforementioned cheese butty. Nice for a bit of easy comfort food on a rainy day.

It's a shame that people need directions on how to do that

There was a diner on DDD who's signature dish was tomato soup and a cheese toastie.

I've always thought the main taste of Heinz tomato soup is the tin itself. Strangely enough, I don't dislike it though..

Blimey! I hope the metal from the tin don't get into the soup!

Tomato soup- the bastion of an uncreative culinary mind.

I can't stand the stuff.
