When expressing delight that Gail had been found not guilty of killing Joe:
"I've never been so happy to lose a fiver!" Mary rocks! |

I adore Mary.
She's a perfect example to me of how a character can really grow on you over time, as I couldn't bear her at first, but now she's bedded in and found her niche within the show to come out with completely random things at inexplicable times, all the while with a perfectly deadpan expression on her face - it takes a special kind of character to get away with doing that. |

The producers should have built Deidre up to become her mother, (let's face it, we all become our mothers in time, but in my case I have given birth to my mother..long story..lol) but Deidre is too stiff and whingy yet to be Blanche so Mary has stepped into Blanches shoes with a touch of comedy
