I dont understand why the baby swap (THATS NOT REAL) affects so many people.

Who cares? The baby didnt die in REAL LIFE. So forget about it. Stop complaining.

EASTENDERS IS A SOAP !! ITS NOT REAL !! A SOAP IS ABOUT DRAMA AND DEPRESSION !!

Get that into your heads.

Im sure people will get over it, because when Danielle died, it was world war three and now hardly anyone mentions Danielle.

Rant over

We haven't had enough threads on this. Thanks.

(EDIT: Completely agree with you, btw.)

I was abroad for Xmas, missed all the media frenzy and have spent the last 3 days catching up !

I have lost a baby to SIDS and also have 3 other children and I have found the story absolutely fantanstic, I absolutely sympathise with Ronnie - the moment of madness when replacng her dead baby with a live one and just pretending everything was ok. Grief is a hideous emotion which none of us can control and makes us all act totally differently. The scenes with Kat and Alfie were heart wrenching - superbly acted by everyone. The guilt felt by Charlie as well.

When i read the spoilers I thought no way could a woman not know her own baby but the way they did it - with jack not seeing his real son, kat being so ill after the birth that she spent v little with him - it made it somehow believable,

I applaud eastender for some excellently scripted and acted episodes. Yes they were harrowing, distressing and gritty but isn/t that why we watch eastenders ? The complaint and backlash are mainly from people who would like to ignore that sids happen - its too upsetting for their cosy worlds, but i for one thinks it has been superbly and sensitively handled. Well done eastenders !
