I reckon Hollyoaks Time Slot generates less viewers
most people are having their tea or still at work and although people do watch tv whilst eating their tea most people dont. Soooo why not put it on at 7pm instead
![]() They have so many good storylines i dont understand why viewings have droppped. Also maybe they could extend it to a full half hour with a minute of adverts instead of 25 minutes |

I've never understood why C4 place Hollyoaks against the news on BBC and ITV. I don't watch HO, but I'd be more likely too if it wasn't on at the same time as (arguably) the most important show of the day.

You have to watch C4 at the end of Brookies life we were chasing it around the schedule, if HO is in a regular slot at the moment your pretty safe. Worry when it starts jumping around.

If they put it at 7 it would be up against Emmerdale, so I don't know if that would help the ratings, considering ED has been getting over 8m viewers lately.

1.0-1.5 watch Hollyoaks which is 5-7% of the audience meaning there's around 16 million watching tv at that time. ITV News gets around 5 million and the regional news around 6-8 million. The audience is there but its eaten by the news. Having it at 7 would be suicidal. 9 million on ITV, 5 Million on BBC1 it would struggle to maintain 1 million
