Problem using AV2HDR to convert ITV HD recordings
I frequently use the AV2HDR software for processing my DVBViewer satellite TV recordings so that I can import them to my Humax Foxsat PVR.
I now find that if I try to process any ITV HD recording, even if it is only 40 secs long, AV2HDR shows: ‘Video length is undeterminable, or less than 30sec. Cannot continue.’ I don’t recall having this problem with ITV HD before, but on the other hand, I rarely save any ITV programmes. I am still able to process ITV (SD) or BBC HD recordings. Are any other DVBViewer users having this problem with ITV HD or is it just my set-up? If it is just my setup, would be grateful for any suggestions re a workaround. I am running Windows 7 (64bit). Thanks. The ITV HD recording will play back in DVBViewer but TSMuxergui reports “Cannot detect stream type. File: ......ts”.
That TS file was recorded from the ITV1 Granada HD transponder (10936V, scale = 1920*1088). I have since found that DVBViewer recordings from the ITV1 London HD transponder (10832H, scale = 1440*1088) are OK - ie they can be processed with AV2HDR (and tsMuxer), for copying to a Humax Foxstat PVR. I will use that version for future DVBViewer recordings, but why should there be a problem with ITV1 Granada HD recordings, and is there anything I can do to process my original recording so that it can be copied to my Humax? Grateful for any advice. |

Although DVB-Viewer reports 1088 vertical res there is no data in the last 8 lines, it's just required to make a multiple of 16. |

Thanks Graham. I tried Scottish ITV HD as suggested. Didn’t have any problem, but at that stage my PC TV card became ‘not found’. Ran ‘Scan for Devices’ in DVBViewer. That bought the card back to life, and to my surprise, fixed the problem with Granada ITV HD.
I still can’t use AV2HDR to process my original ITV HD recording, but as I can load it into a trial version of VideoReDo, I guess I’ll just have to save up and buy the full programme (wish it was a bit cheaper). Thanks again for your time. |

Thanks! This solution worked!
And many thanks for AV2HDR - it is really really useful. |
