Ah yes, the super fast flash-memory built into all iDevices which is oh so much faster than a bog-standard class 6 SDHC card. How fast is it exactly? Does anyone know, or more importantly, does anyone care? Would a write speed of 6MB/sec really be a problem for anything the iPad can do?
The fact is that Apple charge a very heavy price premium for iDevices with more flash storage, and deliberately do not allow them to use other flash memory devices in combination as they know that would jeapordise sales of the products with more flash storage built in (Apple absolutely hate any sort of upgrade, they much prefer that you bin the old one and buy a new better one).
I'm not an Apple hater, I'm simply speaking the truth. I have a Apple product and am very happy with it, but I know that at coming up to three years old, it is now considered obsolete and will no longer be supported by them. I've had three good years out of it, and it will no doubt last a year or two more without any software updates, but Apple is the Logan's Run of the mobile computer world. Once the device is three decades (product generations) old, it no longer has any place in our world of perfect products.
