There's not really a lot to say when In It To Win It is the top rating of the night. ITV could solve all their woes in one move by putting DOI on Saturdays/Sundays but it seems that they don't really mind. I guess it all adds up anyway. Take Me Out must be getting good demo's if it's over 4m with 30% 16-34 but it's still a pretty slow night for ITV.
It's interesting in one way though - this is what Saturday nights were expected to be like at the turn of the century. Saturday night TV was dead, apparently. Then there was Popstars/Pop Idol and all that followed.
I don't think Thunderbirds will be the answer (apparently they're looking at a remake).

I'm sure some others may disagree, though. Downton Abbey clearly now has an established audience, its not all of a sudden going to lose half of that because of a lesser lead-in.”
It's a difficult situation for ITV. I think DA has to stay in that Sunday slot but if they finally put the X Factor auditions onto Sundays then they can use it as a launchpad for another new series - something that might move to Mondays and air for another 7 weeks or so.
There will definitely be a temptation for ITV to put something new in but I'd give it at least another year. Plus, lets remember how long it took ITV to come up with a good non-crime returning series (of more than 3 episodes). It's pretty optimistic that they'd be able to do it again this year.
