fair question, makes you wonder why ITV replaced Fern with Holly

I guess the ITV viewers didnt take to Holly, but they do not seem to be favouring Vanessa.

Over at the BBC.

It seems a Shame Hustle cant air on Wednesday night, in place of what Digiguide reports is a 1 star repeat of Motorway Cops.

This Morning's ratings have gone up since Holly took over.

Apparently they're trying to find the two Daybreak viewers

that or Vanessa has gone into negative numbers, and the systems crashed.

Isnt it marginally though? I seem to remember that some ratings we have seen have not exactly been much higher than before.

Also, could I request a Shameless demo breakdown when you can post them please.

I've seen conflicting things on that. If they have gone up, it's by an insignificant amount.

Depends what your definition of "marginally" is. In December 2008/January 2009, This Morning was getting 1.0/1.1m (with 0.9m or 1.2m sometimes).

I haven't been looking at This Morning's ratings too closely recently but I know a few ratings I've posted on here in the last month or two it's had 1.3/1.4m (and as high as 1.5m), which would make it almost a 20% increase. When I have access to the ratings, I'll be able to do a more thorough comparison, but it definitely looks like their ratings have improved since Holly replaced Fern (and I seem to remember a few newspaper reports in late-2009 suggesting that too).

Not really a surprise that This Morning rated better in December 2010, the 2nd coldest and snowiest December since records began in 1659, than it did in December 2008.

That's not exactly conclusive proof that ratings have gone up since Fern left IMO.

True, but from what I've seen, ratings in other parts of the year for This Morning have also been up compared to the equivalent months when Fern was presenting in her last couple of years. It's not only in December when its ratings was up.

Only just under a couple of weeks ago, for example, This Morning had 1.26m for an episode. In January 2009 (Fern's last year of presenting the show), no episode rated over 1.2m. I've seen similar trends for other months too.

Even from the link you posted earlier in the thread, http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...d.php?t=188410 , in 2005 it says an episode of This Morning got 1.1m in February. Five years on, and it usually does better than that these days in similar months.

Fair enough, but I'm still not convinced after all these reports we've had of BBC daytime hitting new highs. It seems to me that daytime viewing generally is on the increase, probably due to the scale of unemployment, from which This Morning may be benefitting. I'd be surprised to see a similar pattern in the shares.

So a ratings delay? Technology these days.....

Quite annoying - the one day that the ratings might be interesting and they're actually delayed. Drat.

We've still got the US ratings to look forward to. I wonder how Piers faired on day 2.

Howard Stern seems to have fuelled more media interest in the programme after his colour remarks about Jay Leno, somehow I doubt the ratings will have dropped by much.

Don't normally do this, but there's no UK ones available, so...

Tuesday 18th January 2011

22:00 - The Good Wife: 11.34m

Million Dollar Money Drop seems to be building - it's doing not too bad considering FOX have given it very little support.

% of Viewers Aged 18-49
Parenthood – 50%
The Biggest Loser – 47%
Million Dollar Money Drop – 45%
V – 46%
No Ordinary Family – 42%
20/20 – 28%
NCIS – 26%
NCIS:LA – 25%
The Good Wife – 25%

(1.0 A18-49 rating point = 1,320,000 viewers)

All eyes are on American Idol now. Last years launch premiered with 29.94m (11.8), equal to 2009 though down from previous highs (2008: 13.8, 2007: 15.8, 2006: 15.3). FOX have been pushing the new season like mad. Indeed, the show seems to have had more publicity over the past few months than it did when it was actually on air last season.

No Ordinary Family could be doing better, another excellent night for NCIS.

Is Life Unexpected axed now?

Interesting to compare the skews with the UK skews: http://i51.tinypic.com/2qdvsbk.jpg

You'd probably have to take a bit off the UK shows to account for the differing ranges, 18 to 49 compared with 16 to 54.

There's been rumours going around for ages. 1.75m is a series high, which is saying something, I think it's a complete goner (although nothing official has been confirmed yet).

EastEnders Missing episode to air Wednesday 2nd Feb
at 7:30pm so i guess the BBC are using it as a good lead-in for waterloo road

True.
Im very surprised the BBC have gone for the better option of Having EastEnders air Wednesday at 7:30pm rather then an Hour-Long Thursday episode clashing with Emmerdale.

EastEnders and Waterloo road could give the BBC a very good Wednesday night
Charnham

agreed EE should be a nice boost for Waterloo Road.
