CSI: NY did well last night considering it was up against The British Comedy Awards. I guess compared to CSI, it doesn't face the same competition but it does how far CSI has fallen. I'm interested how they'll schedule The Waking Dead, I think Sunday-Friday at 9pm pushing back CSI, NCIS, Mentalist etc to 10pm for one week.

Do think they need to improve their Saturday lineup as CSI: NY is in an island in a sea of repeats, maybe they should acquire Law and Order: Los Angeles and air it after CSI: NY.

I've heard quite a bit about The Walking Dead, but not sure what it's about? How long is the series?

I think they should kick off with a double bill on a Monday from 9pm-11pm after Silent Witness finishes as Mondays are their weakest night at the minute, then continue at 10pm for the rest of the week. I'd leave Sundays alone as the movies are doing good business so nothing needs changing.

As for Saturdays, I'd like to see some them go for more cable shows as cable seems to be where it's at on US TV at the minute- Breakout Kings from the makers of Prison Break would be my top choice.

It's a zombie comic-book adaptation with six episodes. It's very good, but I'm not sure how broad an audience it will attract.

Six episodes. It's about a cop who leads a group of survivors in a world overrun by zombies. The cast includes British actor Andrew Lincoln (This Life, Teachers, Afterlife) and Sarah Wayne Callies. (Prison Break)

I'm presuming Sky will show it as usual. As for a terrestrial channel maybe the BBC. Didn't they show the last one?

Yes the BBC will have coverage once again. It's a bit odd that C4 have nothing to do with the Superbowl though given they have the regular NFL coverage. It is my understanding that the BBC contract is coming to an end (might be the last year actually) so maybe C4 will take it over thereafter.

Excellent night for BBC One and ITV1. Very good for BBC Two also with its top rated show back after a longer than usual break.

Ooh, close to 1m for the encore of IRT. They are doing away with that showing next week so hopefully the figure will rise for the Friday night showing.

Good rating for The Transporter. This film always repeats well. In fact, the last showing on Channel 4 on Saturday 1st May attracted a very similar audience of 1.5m.

Thanks Mike. Pretty decent return for Top Gear there considering the competition and it provided a strong lead in to Bruce Parry.

Good Sunday for BBC1 as usual with Wogan making a decent start performing similarly to Zen.

I'll wait to see how high ITV's HD and +1 figures are, but it looks like the earlier start and Top Gear dented ITV's line up. It did feel really padded out last night-when there's 12 contestants performing they don't need all the introduction and waving at the beginning which wastes too much time. Some parts of last night had the car crash TV element too, especially Brazier's 'insemination' comment which was cringey. Karen Barbers obvious dislike for Gardiner was slightly uncomfortable too.

The one wrong decision Ch4 made this week was starting a new series of CDWM on Sundays which is never a good idea. It would do much better in a Tuesday or Wednesday slot. I don't think Gok will get anymore than 2m. The film premiere did pretty decently though.

CDWM is such a mess scheduling wise. I can't believe they started a new series of the hour-long primetime version in the same week as a new series started of the regular 30 minute teatime version.

Unbelievably it looks as though the Saturday repeats of old Come Dine With Me (not even a marathon of this week's 5pm episodes) produced the highest CDWM rating of the week.
