Series 1 [08 ep] - 2.56m (h: 2.81m; l: 2.18m)
Series 2 [10 ep] - 2.70m (h: 3.11m; l: 2.40m)
Series 3 [08 ep] - 3.01m (h: 3.24m; l: 2.56m)

Series 7 [16 ep] - 2.81m (h: 3.98m; l: 2.45m)”

shameless has done pretty well for them.
but it started hitting a problem when really huge characters started leaving and not being replaced with the same Calibre of character.

I just think they longer run is going to harm the show last years really run out of Gas .once Karens Storyline came to its peak.Paddy's exit storyline was also not the best after an amazing one dealing with his forced drug addiction.

Good shout. I was just about to ask this. Anyone have them? rzt maybe?

I saw them advertising it earlier, which kind of bugged me. As if they were still big supporters of the show despite cutting its output by 80%.

In today's ratings summary we got +1 included C4 figures, so don't count on it.

Very good for the channel. Hard to know what the slight drop was down to.

Regarding ITV1+1 - it's worth noting, that overnight data for it may not be available straight away from tomorrow.

Newly BARB reported channels which have recently launched such as MTVN HD, My Channel, Men & Movies, Vintage TV etc still haven't appeared in the databases for overnight ratings. However ITV1+1 is probably "high priority" so could well appear straight away in the overnight databases - it depends I suppose.

I don't currently have access to the overnights but when I do, I'll try and post those ratings.

Even more impressive, MG notes that:

Quote:
“BBC1 scored a notable victory by actually increasing its peak-time share between 6pm and 10.30pm – albeit marginally – from 22.8% to 23%. It edged ahead of ITV1, which between 6pm and 10.30pm slipped back from 22.8% to 22.3%.”

Different 'definitions' of Primetime
17:30 to 00:00 - Channel 4
18:00 to 22:30 - BBC, Barb
19:00 to 22:30 - ITV
19:00 to 23:00 - Attentional”

LOL at the Channel 4 definition.

Were there any 2009 figures for ITV HD as it was only a red-button option on Freesat or 'other channels' on Sky?

In some potentional commissioining news: Paul Burling and Penn & Teller have been saying in the last few days that ITV are currently deciding whether or not to commission full series of their one-offs they've recently done. Given the ratings and general feedback, P&T are probably more likely to return.

Also, ITV's new Caroline Aherne sitcom pilot about security men is filming in 3 weeks time. Not sure if that pilot will be aired on TV or if they'll view it and decide to commission more episodes before airing the whole thing.

Before ITV1HD launched as a proper channel, I believe its viewers were counted as part of the normal ITV1 channel.

Life of Riley starts filming this week, so Neil Dudgeon has managed to find time for both it and Midsomer Murders. I wasn't sure if he'd be able to do both.

The Daily Show Global Edition: 78k (0.7%), +1: 0k

In the same slot last week, More4 had 328k for UFOs: The Secret Evidence. I dunno if that's a high rating for the slot or about average, but thought it was worth noting.

I think BBC One's staples had a good year - we know EastEnders was up and returning dramas seemed very strong too.

I think strong news ratings have helped the channel a lot too - the channel share was marginally down from 7-10.30 and marginally up from 6-10.30, which obviously indicates that the 6pm news has enjoyed a boost. And though, we've no comparative figures, the general impression seems to be that Breakfast, if anything, benefitted from the arrival of Daybreak.

Strong news ratings aren't really surprising considering we've had the election, two bouts of 'snowmageddon' at either end of the year and a couple of other media whirlwinds (Volcanoes, Royal Weddings, Raul Moat. etc).

768k on its first showing, 900k with repeats.

Didn't do as well as the very well established Californication, or as well as Shameless. But, it's on Showtime, where ratings aren't the first consideration for renewal necessarily, it's keeping subscribers happy.

Million Pound Drop on Twitter confirms the show is returning Friday 28th January, 10pm for the first of 8 shows. These will be aired every Friday and Saturday night. Meaning Davina will be on live TV three days a week for a month. Four if you include Biggest Loser *cough* media whore *cough*.

So Million Pound Drop is back on C4 on Friday 28th January at 10pm. I am assuming they are going to Friday-Saturday strategy. They cannot go to Sunday with Davina on Sky1...

Davina's done surprisingly well since the end of BB with GTD, MPD and now TBL, even though the latter will probably flop..when was the last time something on a Monday night in January fell below 3m with a Corrie lead in?

Tbh I don't think it would be a bad move to give Davina the XF gig if Dermot quits. I reckon she'd fit in pretty well and she's well known and likeable.

Ouch !

I suppose they were justified in moving the show

Grand Designs gets 5 times as many viewers in its previous 8.30pm slot

at that 37.1% share for Emmerdale. Can't remember it hitting that high for a long, long time...very impressive indeed. Another solid night for Corrie, and the tape-checked 11m for the second episode proves there was no drop off at all. EE doing very well too in light of the whole media storm surrounding the programme at the moment.

Why are ITV airing The Biggest Loser at 9pm on a Monday night in January? Worst decision ever! Don't they normally air drama's in these cold winter evenings? And it lasts for 8 weeks too. Total waste of a slot and Silent Witness has benefited massively from this.

Strong returns for Shameless and Glee, inparticular Shameless, now in it's 8th run, and a massive 22-episode stretch. I hope this doesn't affect the quality of the show as last nights series opener wasn't the best IMO.
