It shouldn't be that hard.

Demographic Info for Monday 31st January: http://i51.tinypic.com/rjmybp.jpg

- Silent Witness tops day with ABC1s, EastEnders tops day among 16-34s and 18-49s.
- C5's shows were the only ones which skewed in favour of males.
- One Born Every Minute won the 9pm hour among 16-34s and had a higher 18-49 skew (60%) compared to last week's 57%.
- Glee continues to be strong among 16-34, almost beating Silent Witness in that demo (3.9 vs. 4.0).
- Interesting how the night before, Top Gear was more popular than Monday's Corrie among 16-34s (12.9 vs. 10.3), 18-49s (14.1 vs. 13.3) and almost as popular among ABC1s.
----
Also, Transfer Deadline Day on Sky Sports News peaked with 1.04m (7.5%) at 23:00. Hourly breakdowns were:

17:00-18:00: 450k
18:00-19:00: 606k
19:00-20:00: 659k
20:00-21:00: 680k
21:00-22:00: 586k

Yesterday's episode had 1.2m (22%). From the ratings I've seen, it's usually in that 1.1-1.3m range at this time of the year. Not sure about your second question though.

do you get demos for the daytime shows? I'd be interested in THis Morning, Loose Wimmin and what ever is on BBC at the same time.

Neighbours seems to be holding steady for Channel 5 with approx 2 million viewers over both showings. However, they really do need a British based hit show to win over the doubters. Well you all know there is one that's been made redundant from Channel 4 that can pull in 2 million.

How do you think Boardwalk Empire will rate tonight?

Just to note that the Sky EPG changes have arrived today and as predicted the demotion of the BBC HD channels to page 3 on the HD menu (rather than near the top of page 1 before) is causing a lot of annoyance on the Sky HD forum here.

ITV 1 HD is even more seriously effected as it is even lower down than both the BBC HD channels yet ITV 2, 3 and 4 HD have both moved way up to page 1!

Sky channels are now much more easily accessed on the menu because they swapped whereas BBC 1 HD, ITV 1 HD, Channel 4 HD etc did not choose to swap with their SD counterparts (in fact usually could not swap due to lack of HD regional sub channels) .

Given the furore from some people on here about their now more difficult way to see and select the most watched HD channels it will be worth watching how this effects viewing figures on a wider scale. As I guess a lot of Sky's 3 million HD homes will only discover there are any changes when they sit down tonight and look to see what is on.

Yep, here are yesterday's daytime (morning) demos: http://i56.tinypic.com/9qep20.jpg

- Must be concerning for ITV that BBC Breakfast is beating Daybreak among Housewives with Children.
- Apart from Breakfast, ITV's programmes beat BBC1's programmes among 16-34s, 18-49s and Housewives with Children.
- BBC1's programmes beat all ITV1's shows among ABC1s.
- Noticeably downmarket audience for The Jeremy Kyle Show, but it does well in the other demos.

How is it more difficult? Just simply put the HD channels in your favourites or spend the extra 2 seconds to move down to the next page

Somewhere in the region of 1 million. The last massively hyped big budget US drama to premiere on Sky and therefore the nearest comparison I can make was The Pacific. That managed a commendable 700k in the overnights on Sky Movies Premiere last year, a channel that isn't automatically available in satellite homes in the same way that Atlantic is. Plus they have taken the drastic and somewhat unprecedented step of devoting a whole hour of primetime on Sky's various entertainment channels to promoting it, in the form of Let The Stories Begin which airs simultaneously across Sky1, Sky2, Sky Living, Sky Living Loves and Sky Living It in the 8pm hour and will doubtlessly direct viewers to Boardwalk Empire on Sky Atlantic after.

Blue Bloods will bomb though (300k absolute max). A mistake to premiere that on the same night.

The rest of the output like Curb, Entourage, etc will be lucky to top 100k.

Good day all round. Brilliant for Silent Witness and another grow for The Biggest Loser. I think TBL will improve with Outcasts on instead of SW. Be interesting to see if Taggart rises next week. Also, great for Doctors and Newsnight. The Lakes did quite good as well to get 4m. A good share for the Neighbours repeat - 10%. Great stuff for E4 and Glee.

Wonder how the new Sky channels and line-up is going?

Fantastic figures for Sky Sports News.

As for Boardwalk Empire tonight I am genuinely unsure how it will perform, it could do really well or it could be underwhelming. One interesting thing will be whether it retains it audience over the course of the 90 minutes, I suspect many will have been drawn in by the marketing campaign but may not actually like Boardwalk or the issues it focuses on when they actually see what it is all about.

As for Blue Bloods I would be impressed (and surprised) if it passes the 400,000 mark.

And "Hattie" on BBC4, which got a total of 2.12m (inc HD).

Despite stating otherwise looks like Karl Pilkington has agreed to do a second series of An Idiot Abroad.

Well you can tell by the adverts in the breaks for bingo, dodgy loan companies and JML what type of audience it attracts. However, a 19 per cent audience share among women with kids for This Morning must be worrying as this is supposed to be what it's aimed at.

I wonder how well Jersey Shore will do tonight.

The Hills got 319,000 for its finale on MTV when it was on channel 350..and now MTV has moved to 126 and has been promoting Jersey Shore to death, and there's been quite a lot of hype for the new season.

Any guesses?

Still amazed by MTV's promotion up the (Sky) EPG. Might as well have QVC and Babestation up that high while they're at it, they probably reach more viewers.

That's what I thought, but then again I guess it does have its moments! they might be few and far between but I guess 300k for MTV is pretty good.

ABC:
8pm - The Bachelor - 9.50m (3.2)

FOX:
8pm - Human Target - 7.81m (2.1)
9pm - Lie To Me - 7.05m (2.2)

NBC:
8pm - Chuck - 5.56m (1.7)
9pm - The Cape - 5.30m (1.5)
10pm - Harry's Law - 10.86m (2.1)

CW:
8pm - 90210 - 1.75m (0.8)
9pm - Gossip Girl - 1.50m (0.8)

Tvbythenumbers.

Chuck and The Cape hit season lows but Harry's Law has had remarkable retention from its premiere and holds again at a 2.1. Chuck's year-on-year decline was a massive 32%.

Worth noting that CBS was 2nd in the demo and for viewers with an all repeat line-up.

Lie To Me and Human Target are both likely to be dumped anyway. That was Lie To Me's season/series finale. The Bachelor hit a season high, but was still 22% lower than the same week last year. Both Gossip Girl & 90210 hit season lows among adults 18-49. They also dropped to 1.7 and 1.4 ratings in the target W18-34 demo as well.

Cable ratings will appear later. ABC Family will no doubt mention The CW's ratings at some point today - 90210 will have been thumped by Pretty Little Liars at 8pm in all target demos. Syfy will be hoping that Being Human kept up the pace after a good second week and MTV will be hoping that Skins doesn't fall any more.

% Of Viewers Aged 18-49
Gossip Girl - 70%
90210 - 60%
The Bachelor - 44%
Lie To Me - 41%
Chuck - 40%
The Cape - 37%
Human Target - 35%
Harry's Law - 26%

Didn't Viacom just put MTV in the old Comedy Central slot? Or do they have to get the agreement of Sky?

I doubt Jersey Shore will do much here - it's a bit of a cultural phenomenon in the US. The criticism that built up around it and the fact that it focusses on Italian-Americans won't translate here, IMO. For MTV standards, it will probably do OK - maybe 200,000+?

MTV USA was the #1 cable network among adults 18-49 2 weeks ago and #5 in total viewers. Maybe Viacom will look to revive the brand in the UK as well, but just now it's definitely struggling.
