Was it any good compared to DOI? Plus I'm interested to know how it works when T&D aren't controlling the whole choreography thing.

Just watched Fred and his partner in the final on Youtube (anything for a bit of Fred!) and it certainly looked like they were doing more dancing than on the UK version...

I saw it, I thought it was ok but I don't think it was as good as DOI if I'm honest, I preferred their judges though - particularly Johnny Wier, he was funny.

I do wish that T&D would allow the pros to choreograph some of their routine. Someone like Mark had no chance with the routine that Nadia had really and he's supposed to be superb.

I watched a couple of clips of Fred on the tubes and it made me wonder if they overplay the contribution of T&D to the choreography on ITV (or underplay the contribution of the pros to be more accurate) because the routines weren't radically different to what you saw on DoI, but then like I say, I did only watch a few clips of Fred because he's really rather good looking.

I did notice that it seemed very influenced by Dancing with the Stars and so maybe the producers placed more value on dancing to try and attract the same audience.

I watched it (have to say mostly cos of Fred) but diid quite enjoy it.

I liked some things about it - liked the circular rink & the loop. Johnny Weir & Dick Button were good judges although the woman Laurieann irritated me. The voting was a bit odd with the public vote carried over to the next show's judges scores. Thought it was quite funny if a little dodgy that you could vote online from the UK - think Fred & Rebecca got a few votes from this side of the pond. Vernon was an odd choice but thought Tanith Belbin came across well.

Overall the standard of skating was good considering that they only had 5 weeks practice. Fred's partner Rebecca was outstanding although she had done some skating as a child. Johnny Mosely was good as was Brandon before he got ill. Ridiculous Bettany got to the final though.
