Harden My Heart by Quarterflash 1981
Phoenix Lazarus
18-03-2011
Does anyone else recall this one? It got a lot of airplay on Radio One in late 1983, but never made the top 40-but in my opinion, it deserved to, as it was a really good song.

Care-Flaming Sword

And how about this great, atmospheric little track?

The Mobiles-Drowning In Berlin

As the supplier of the three above-mentioned links, the pleasure was all mine, sir.

“Tracie Young:- I Can't Leave You Alone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEw28AVWgaI”

Apropos of that, was reminded of how Ms Tracie Young was an old 80s crush of mine, and would like to further honour her memory with these two links.

You may therefore be interested to know that Tracie is now a DJ at Chelmsford Radio and sister stations. I think her Saturday show is actually 12-4 now though. http://www.chelmsfordradio.com/onair...d=Tracie Young

Pretty in Pink was also one of my fave songs of 1986 but I picked Heartbeat here as it is less well known.

I always wondered why Maria Magdalena wasn't a hit here. It was all over Europe back then. The 'Self Control' bit in it would have helped too.

The only song by former Eagles member, Joe Walsh I hear played on Radio 2 is Life's Been Good but this song from 1982 I find just as good.

Just remembered this. A great record, yet did little or nothing chartwise. Listeners to Mike Read's show in the later 1980s may recognise the tune, as they rerecorded the end of the song, with appropriate lyrics, as a jingle for his show.

Scarlet Party-101 Dam-nations

Charted in 1988 at 70 and 80 in Australia and Britain respectively; it was re-issued again in Britain a year later only to end up at 82.

It's hard to find anything rare by Howard Jones but this song from before he shot to fame demonstrates why he was the master of synth
