I used to love "On the Trail" by the Prime Movers. I couldn't find the 45 version on YouTube unfortunately. All I remember is that Gary Davis really tried to get this to be a hit and played it daily for weeks. Bizarrely it never made it into the top 40.

Also for really great rare 80s tracks tune into a radio station called 1FM Flashback alternatives - it's on the internet and I've got it tuned into my internet radio. It's brilliant and plays really rare stuff and old 12" versions of obscure 80s records. Only the other night it played This Island Earth but an even rarer one than See that Glow and an extended 12" mix of Icehouse's "Hey Little Girl".

Brilliant song. Some great tracks being mentioned on here even though to me the 80s means dance and a lot of great European songs that no one here will even know of. Modern Talking, the great German disco Schlager singer Fancy (Bolero), Barbara Doust, Eria Fachin, Sisley Ferre, Rose Laurens, Spagna, Suzy Q... Probably all unknowns on here!

Serial lurker here, but just had to pop my head up and say that I've had a fantastic evening with this thread, thanks to all who contributed, some classic stuff here.

However I have to say my favourite so far is Cristina - Things Fall Apart. I can't stop listening to it, it's effing brilliant. I know it's nowhere near Christmas but it's too good not to share now!

It's on Spotify here for those that use it, better quality than the Tube of You links.

Great thread.

Don't know if anyone remembers this little gem, 1984 I think. Remember being at a college disco and me and this guy I had been after for ages, were embraced in a long kiss on the dance floor, DJ gave me this 12" record as a prize for the longest kiss he had seen.

And what a great prize it turned out to be...choooon.
