Hope this does the title thread worthy, one of my faves from the 80's.

Kissing The Pink may have turned to shite afterwards but Naked was a great new wave album with tracks like Big Man Restless, Last Film and this one.

Thought I'd throw a curveball in:

This isn't rare as it's a song by the Cure, who are obviously a major band, but I was trawling through some of their old B-sides yesterday and I forgot how brilliant some of them were, so here, as a rarity because it's the seldom heard B-side to Inbetween Days, is the beautiful A Few Hours After This:

As I just contributed Theatre of Hate with Do You Believe in the West World? on the "Songs over 5 words" thread, I thought I would highlight it here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eX_6K1xGApY

I think it would suit Franz Ferdinand to do a cover version of this!

Sniff n tears - drivers seat

there was a B side on a Pete Selley band ZIP, the song was called 'give it to me'. A song i always play, they used to use it on channel 4s Tour De France theme music.

Some cheesy Euro-pop duets

Austria meets Denmark as Falco attempts his grand comeback with Danish model Brigitte Neilsen but the single would fail to chart in Britain and the US.

Falco - Body Next To Body

Although it starts off pretty cheesy this next song actually gets pretty good as France meets Wales in a song later covered by Welsh group Worlds Apart.

Jean Jacques Goldman & Michael Jones - Je te donne

And back to pure cheese with this French 'rock' song which at one point features sets of loosely connected English and French words (Cauchemard, highway, hop trip, fumée noire..) The video is tres 80's stylish.

Nicoletta & Bernard Lavilliers - Idées noires

I heard another Carmel song from about 6 months later: More More More. It is not the same song that was a hit for Andrea True Connection, Bananarama and Rachel Stevens though.

Top notch rocker from the start of the decade.

REO Speedwagon - Follow My Heart

Along with Supertramp, ELO were hailed as the new Beatles at their late 70's height, but as with the former band, it went sour for them in the 80's. This Beatlesesque song was intended for release on their 1983 double album that never was.

Electric Light Orchestra - Hello My Old Friend

This French music video from 1987 makes the infamous Joe Le Taxi, released the same year, seem tame by comparison.

Marie Möör/Barney Wilen - Beau Masque (NSFW)

Bumping this thread up in honour of a song on a mixtape of mine I'd been trying to identify for some time. If this has been released by Foreigner, Asia, Pablo Cruise or any other biggish AOR group of the time this would've been a hit but somehow this 1981 song faded into near oblivion.

Tycoon - Walkin' The Line

I hadn't heard these particular songs but I loved some Italo Hits like P. Lion Happy Children.
