Yet another Bow Wow Wow track. Listening to a few of their records again they still sound fun & fresh today.
Don't remember this track though, according to Wiki it only reached 47 in the charts, should have done better. Do You Wanna Hold Me - Bow Wow Wow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7BwR...eature=related |

They'd just think it was Careless Whisper, True and The Reflex, with a bit of Frankie thrown in. |

That's the problem. Anyone who didn't live through the 80's and only knew the music from 80's hours on VH1 and various radio stations wouldn't have a clue just how brilliant it was.

Oh I loved Just A Mirage, another one of my coveted 7 inches that still gets a spin from time to time. Guest vocalist Adele Bertei had also had a chart flop in 1985 with this funky enough little tune When It's Over.
It's on a really obscure compliation tape I have called "Out Now! 2", presumably an intended 'rival' series to Now! and the lesser Hits which never took off - and given it seems to consist mostly of low or even non-top 40 charting tracks, that's hardly surprising; there wasn't really any room in the market I suppose when the aforementioned series had already creamed off most of the top 40 catalogue. My favourite track on there is this Adventures' criminally non-charting stormer, Two Rivers. It's also a shame that everyone remembers Amazulu today for (aside from the singer's hair) their cover of 'Too Good To Be Forgotten', when their 1985 original calypso hit Excitable was IMO the better and funkier tune. |
