It was performed by Abigail Mead and Nigel Goulding and taken from the "Full Metal Jacket" movie soundtrack from 1987-ish.

France Joli - "Gonna Get Over You" (1981)
I don't remember this in 1981 and first heard it on a french radio station a few years ago.
This must have been one of the last records featuring brass and string sections, before synthesisers took over.

A few more:

Furniture - Brilliant Mind
Aztec Camera - Oblivious
Thompson Twins - In the name of love

LOVED this. Bought it as soon as it came out and saw them support Simple Minds in 1983. I think I bought every album after that. Great band.

Now your both talkin

This is soul Disco track from 1982-Raw Silk-Do it To the Music
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezw2b0uuz_o

The video is from TOTP in 1982,when it was fun and used to get 10 million plus viewers before Fame which was on at 8.10
Fame being what Glee has basically ripped off.

Speaking of which:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwEvOQ4HXB4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq-jANkqpQo

Revelutionary Spirit - The Wild Swans (later some became The Lotus Eaters)

Sweetest Smile - Black

Ask the lord - Hipsway

Homosapien - Pete Shelley. (12" is one of the best 12" singles ever and a new dubstep remix would really suite it)
