Goodness knows how many generations each has been through, the BBC One HD hasn't been sent through regional switching (though hopefully that's mostly "out of circuit" most of the time - at least as much as can be).

Agreed but switching from BBC1-SD to BBC1-HD with the same programme always sounds better. Not very scientific I know. I haven't got a recording of the same transmission but I have a recording of the Nativity transmitted in DD2.0 details are

The ftp server on the humax doesn't recognise the command so I guess it must be a stripped down ftp server.
