no its a repeat, i have to say i think the parents were pretty selfish why didnt they emigrate when the children were smaller because neither of the kids wanted to move there and at 15 and 16 its a terrible age to be making such a big move, i wonder what happened to them?
I felt a bit sorry for them today..That one lad was not going to budge, would be nice to know what happened to them all.

Me too! I've been watching this week but missed the end of this programme so if anyone knows what they chose...

Also, it always seems to be familys on this show, don't Australia take single people with the relevant skills

So is this a new series?

I saw yesterdays and thought the navy bloke was going to have coranary when he was told how much more he would earn at that gold mine

and wasn`t the daughters boyfriend sweet, very supportive and not playing the emotianal card

No idea if it's a new series but I'm pretty sure that I haven't seen these before. The couple this morning were being totally torn in two, it was quite a sad one to watch.

More and more it seems both of the couple need to work to afford a house, food seems more expensive and more often than not they always send them when the weather is poor.

I’m never convinced those with close families, which they all seem to have, are making the correct choices when it comes to emigrating down under. Will there ever be a family who aren’t living close by their families who don’t need to clutch at them for support.

It is a new series. Series 6, with today's show being 4 of 20.

They would never have me on the programme as I could never muster up enough relatives and friends who would be prepared to cry on camera, or even miss me in the first place.

I'm sure you're wrong but lol how refreshing not having to watch all the dramatics.

I felt really sorry for the couple on today's show. Although by the end of it I felt he was really quite selfish in continuing to, in effect, sulk about going in the face of so many reasons why it was better for them to stay put. I couldn't understand why they didn't find a compromise solution of perhaps relocating within the UK though. I'd love to know what happened to them after the programme.

Didn't feel sorry at all for the husband today and all my sympathy was for his Wife " Where does our daughter fit in all this then?" Exactly.

I think it exposed the dissatisfaction he had with his marriage more than anything. It seemed to me that he was focusing too much on their honeymoon to Australia many years before when life was so much more simpler.

Since then he had lost his job, had a daughter etc. I got the overwhelming impression that his was wistful for the days before he had such overwhelming responsibilities and Australia was a means of escape.

The programme also glossed over the reasoning for the wife's own family leaving Australia themselves when she was a child.

I'm sorry but I see little hope for their marriage after this. Too much anger and resentment visible on both sides.

Completely agree with all of that ^^ He was really miserable wasn't he and his wife and daughter were lovely. He had a lot to be grateful for and couldn't seem to see it.

Thanks for this. Is he still in the Shetlands?

She was so happy with her life in the Shetlands and good luck to her and her daughter.

Pretty safe to say Christchurch, New Zealand is unlikely to feature in this new series (or any new series for quite a while). That was the only reason my mum used to watch this show, as we have family (my brother and sister-in-law) who live there.
