Morning Snail, so far this is a total hiding to nothing.
Hoorah at last he's pointed out that comparing directly a house in Blackburn with property in a city like Sydney, is not fair at all.

I can see her point. They've almost emigrated before, but pulled out, and that was pre-chhildren.
She's totally happy where she is, both with their home and the community and friendship circles.
Now she's looked at the money aspect again though, seems she's changed her mind.

That's the first mention of bringing up the children too.

I was distracted by the phone.
You're right though, this week has seemed very similar especially with all the early negativity and showing them houses that aren't likely to tempt them over there, not appealing and too expensive, cost of living double what it is here and then bingo! suddenly given the salaries everything changes and it all seems rosy.

Saimah was brutal wasn't she, after seeing the family videos.
Still, it was good to hear people praising life over here for a change, that doesn't seem to happen too often.

Morning BG.
Totally unsuitable for a family - must be simply to demonstrate the cost of housing.

The boys look so sweet don't they and I loved how they said they'd been good on the flight over.

I thought the 2nd house was quite nice!

3rd house is more suited to this family though

Second house could be fantastic, but boy did it need some work and money spending on it. I wonder how long it'd been empty for?
Let's see how the maths stack up later, because they did fall for the last one didn't they.

I would imagine the 2nd house would look fab after you'd done it up....very spacious and I thought it was quite light inside...

He seems to have a good job. I see she wont be working until the kids settle in, so it will be just the one wage coming in...

The maths dont seem to be adding up at the moment!

It's been the same all week - everything costs twice as much over there, but the higher salary usually seems to make everything magically ok.

This couple would have to borrow a huge amount of money.

This is unbelieveable! £20,000 more salary - if and when he gets a job - but more than double their mortgage and it's still affordable? I can't see that he would get a mortgage for anyway near enough let alone it be affordable

I haven't even attempted to spell it

You could see on the sheet that including everything they have, they'd only be taking £40,000 of capital with them, not sure if that was based on selling their house for the top valuation (probably) and I think they included a salary for her too even though she wouldn't be working until the boys were both in school?

I've been puzzling who Lou reminds me of and decided she sounds like she could be Carole Malone's daughter, the voice is really similar.

No update today but I still fail to see how they can afford it having only £40,000 in equity.

It was uncanny.

I missed the very end because the phone went

I saw them on the beach holding up the Aussie cards as little Ruben seemed to be making his way back to England all by himself

Really lovely little boys weren't they.
