Just like it did for today's lot too! Couldn't warm to them, either, all he seemed to care about was going surfing. She seemed happy that her mum could stay in a granny annexe for 6 months, but that's only while she's fit enough to travel - though there was talk of her moving out too, so that would resolve the travel, but how do you stand on getting health insurance out there? Surely you must need that?

Just watched Mondays show with Corbett Family A year later they had all moved and even bought a house to.
Her mum was also applying for a visa but if she don't get one can still stay out there for 6 months a year with them. They seemed like a nice couple. |

Yesterdays show with the family looking at NZ was interesting. Very grown up little girls - they creeped me out slightly!

The two girls in the latest programme showed more maturity than any of the parents I have ever seen on this programme
"Why do we have to go to New Zealand"? Why can' t we just change out lives back home?". So they did. Ditched the gym membership, the house in the more aspirational area, the expensive holidays. And what did they find? A happy and more together family. Shame the parents didn't share the same sense of their children before signing up to this programme but at least they got a free holiday out of it. |

I'm starting to get sick of people who blatently can't afford to move blindly picking Austrailia.
People whos houses are worth 50k less than they expected, are gonna earn 10k a year less but need to spend 1k a month more on living still pick Austrailia! |

True but worrying that a 9 year old was concerned about losing her postcode
true. Don't you reckon such ideas were installed by her parents in the first place. They were obviously living beyond their means.

Haven't watched for a few weeks..the stories were all merging into one...I would rather have a show about the family wanting to go and then the conclusion in the last 15 mins or so.

The programme today is new to me though, I didn't see the original. Parents and two boys are in Melbourne. The boys are really irritating me, they strike me that having gone all that way, they'd both rather have just stayed in bed for the week. |

Morning....Poor you..
![]() I'm watching The Wright Stuff these days... Hope your engineer is a handsome one..they're the best! Must admit, I'm getting a bit bored with this programme. It just seems the same every episode, with a different family and perhaps a different location. |

Thanks Snail. To be honest, I'm so fed up with being so cold I dont care what he looks like! As long as they can fix it!

We haven't had any snow and not even a touch of Frost..
![]() We've been on Guernsey, in the snow - on Christmas Day as well. Can't think what year it was, infact it's scary when I start counting back...perhaps about 1998? |

Seriously, what on earth was the point of that today? We had loads and it stayed and stayed, then it snowed again on Sunday morning. It's been so, so cold. We've been on Guernsey, in the snow - on Christmas Day as well. Can't think what year it was, infact it's scary when I start counting back...perhaps about 1998? I can't ever remember snow here on Christmas day! This island is a nightmare when it snows, totally grinds to a halt! I love the snow..lots of fields round us and looks so beautiful! |

I think the 'revisit' programmes are just cheap TV. Spend 3/4 hour showing the old programme then 15 mins on the update. It would be far more interesting if they featured three families in one programme.
Gets off soapbox.....

We live in the wilds of East Sussex GS.
The Christmas it snowed we went to lunch at the la Grand Mere golf course restaurant, we were travelling from St Saviour's and it caused a lot of excitement. Funnily enough there are loads of weather records on the web http://www.metoffice.gov.gg/2010%20Annual%20Report.pdf and, a Snow Gallery ![]() http://www.bbc.co.uk/guernsey/conten...llery.shtml?25 Anyhow, I'd better get some work done. I have been glancing at CT by the way, just not been on the thread for a week because I've had a really nasty cold/virus and just not felt inspired at all. Might catch you later. Hope you get hold of your engineer BG, ooh err ![]() Cross posted Angela - yes, that would be a much better idea. |
