They want to run a coffee shop, which they have never done before...
hilarious isnt it? running a business which they have absolutely no knowledge of.

Theyve never even set foot in Adelaide befoire yet dream of moving there.

So far the only reason we've been told for the move is 'to slow things down a bit'. Errrrm... just move to the countryside in the UK , its exactly what you guys need .

OMG.. Daughter wants a swimming pool in the house. Dad is surprised to see its not the norm in Australia How thick can people be? Do they just pop over to the travel agents for their 'research' ?

Ah, it is a bit of a learning curve, they have discovered that not all homes in Adelaide have a pool in the garden. Couldn't they have just Googled to find out?

their dream appears to be over. Dad is getting a reality check. Could they not have done their research of running a coffee shop back in the UK? What a waste of lincense payers money getting these numpties a free week in Oz.

Pennies dropping right, left and centre here..

Honestly did they not do a bit of internet research before announcing they wanted to move so far away, did they not realise they would have to leave their family behind, they've never run a business, what a surprising vote at the end.

For me, its about how rampant consumerism has blinded some people to what matters. They want what they see as more 'goodies', and seem to forget what really matters when you strip it all down. Relationships.

i wonder what these two from Friday's show are up to now?

You've just had a cancer scare, have never even set foot in a coffee shop by the looks of it (coffee making 'thing' was a telltale sign ), have never even set foot in Australia before, have deluded ideas about the property prices and cost of living over there, and you want to move 1000s of miles away from your family who can give you support at this difficult time in your lives.

Oh well. Good luck.

The people on this programme seem to want to leave the UK 'for a better lifestyle' but as long as that involves moving to somewhere that is similar to where they live now but with better weather, a house from Grand Designs next to the beach with a pool for around £100K, being able to walk into exactly the same job although only work mornings for the same or a higher salary and have their friends and relatives come and visit several times a year so they don't get too homesick.

They also expect to get £800K for their semi in Ellesmere Port because 'we have done so much work on it' and are horrified when it is valued at £75K.

Another incredibly selfish woman on todays programme.

"All I could see where positives and all they could see were negatives"!

You're on holiday you stupid cow! Everything looks fab on holiday. And to drag those two girls away from their Father...words fail me.

I agree. It was definitely a case of "me, me, me" today.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with the same impression!

They seem to be under the impression that everythning is much cheaper in Australia, but everyone gets paid more.... The cost of living in any country is generally reflected in people's wages.

In saying that, though, Australia seems to be on a par with this country in terms of cost of living.

Yet again a parent (mum this time) subjecting the rest of the family to their dreams....dad didn't want to go, children didn't want to go (despite going kangaroo feeding and koala stroking, her efforts to persuade them Australia offered them a better life)
Their family in the U.K. wanted them to stay, the girls' father, obviously cared about his girls very much, and didn't want them to go, BUT MUM WANTED TO AND WAS GOING TO CARRY ON TRYING TO PERSUADE THEM.:

it always looks very tempting....BUT...
I have a very good friend who emigrated 3 years ago, on the basis of being a nurse she was guaranteed a job. All looked wonderful
After 3 years, they are in as much debt as they were here, & the husband has just been made redundant, she is working more than full time (she hoped to work part time)..so its not always as it seems...

This show seems to be full of UK rednecks (if there is suck a thing - well, just think Jeremy Kyle ) who have done absolutely no research at all and their idea of life in Australia has all been derived from tourist brochures.

Australia can have them as far as I'm concerned

How rude!

I suppose you have forgotten about shift-workers, short or long term sick or disabled, stay at home mums, part-time workers, kids on half-term holidays, home workers, etc, etc!

Of course, this is meant as an insult. And yet it isn't - there is no shame in being in any one of the categories that you mention.
How does your comment contribute at all?

I wonder why people go on this programme if they know their jobs may not be recognised and paid as much, will miss their family and friends so much and will have to work long hours for a crap hourly wage.

Ah yes...the weather! But, there's only so long you can sit out in the sun in Oz before being burned to a crisp.

Still, it's a free hol over there, I suppose.

She came over as a real control freak. What was wrong with their UK life. They had a nice house in a desirable village and the husband had his own thriving business. The only gainer would be her as she hoped not to work. To take those girls away from their father seemed very cruel. I hope the rest of the family stick to their wish to stay in the UK.
