The version with Kylie on Taio's new single is very good!

much better than the version with one line of rapping from travie..

i thought it was just Capital FM that was doing that, but it's emerged it's Radio 1 too..

what's she done wrong? surely they'd want to play the better version of the song..

I dont know I did notice they arent playing her song on the Chris Moyles show and I was surprised when I eventually heard it, as I did not even realise she had a new song out till I heard it on the Daily Mail website of all places!! It was great too.

EDIT just realized I am talking about Kylies last single. Just having a listen to Taio now on youtube,

Because there pricks, Travie sings a stupid pointless song ruining verse. Kylie and Taio together makes the song more enjoyable.

In the long term does it matter? It's Kylie's that'll be for sale won't it?

Why does it matter? Some of the highest selling acts in history never had any support from radio, let the music do the talking.

i find it abit bizarre, kylies version is ALOT better, and thats the one getting released in the UK.
but lets face it, radio 1 are always desperate to be edgy, they probably think travis mccoy is more popular. morons

I always think of Kylie as more of a Radio 2 act nowadays. Radio 1 have a very young target demographic, so I suppose Travie's more popular with that audience? I think its unfair though, if Kylie were 20 years younger they'd probably be playing her version.

I don't know about Capital though, I would have thought they'd be Kylie fans? But then I hardly ever listen to the radio nowadays, so maybe they're going the same way as Radio 1?

If you are looking for logic when it comes to who Radio 1 deign to playlist, you will be disappointed.

They playlist who they like/want, full stop. They obviously don't like or want Kylie at the moment. It's not about the music.

Probably, because radio 1 is a youth orientated station and Kylie is a middle aged woman.

Unlikely to be a very popular response but if you are looking for the actual reason, look no further.

Kylie is more of a radio 2/Heart type singer, than a Radio 1 type these days. The fact that she gave her CD away with the Daily Mail surely tells you a lot about target audience these days.

That said, all the lovers was probably the best pure pop song of last year and should have been playlisted on every radio station going.

You can't say it's because R1 is 'youth oreintated' because so is Kiss (moreso I'd say) and they play the Kylie version. It's not gonna crash the whole station because they play Kylie Minogue is it? It's not even as if Travie is that popular anyway tbh... Chavs just bummed Billionaire for a while, but nobody seemed to care when his 2nd single reached number 193...

What was his 2nd single called?? Btw Bruno Mars OWNED that song. Travie was just on it for the hell of it. I remember he was in the 'live lounge' on Radio 1 and his singing was ATROCIOUS. Yes he was actually singing not rapping. Not cool. And the DJs were taking the mick out of it all day..

I honestly don't see it making much difference. I will be buying the Kylie version with Taio as I prefer it to the original and the Travie version.

I've never seen the big deal about Kylie. I'm sure she's a nice enough girl, but her talent is minimal. An example of good marketing methinks.

As for why she's not getting played as much on Radio One - she's probably had to make way for the next wave of talentless hype. What goes around...

Oh I don't think so. She had an album that failed to sell even 100,000 copies in the UK during the 90's and that didn't do her the ounce of harm.

Oh so because she does her first collaboration in 12 years it's the end of a 24 year career. Ok.

Did I say it was 'the end'? Like it or not, collaborations or no collaborations, she's on the wane...which eventually comes to all but the supremely talented...which she isn't! End of.

Capital is now basically a renamed Galaxy.

Not a fan but going back down the disco / dance route was a big mistake for her.She had moved her music on a little bit from that.It hasn't been a very successful back treading musical route for Madonna either.

Yeah. On Galaxy (when it actually was Galaxy), whenever they played Better Than Today, the presenters were always hyping up the Taio/Kylie collab, and then a couple of months later they play the Travie version. It's a bit weird. I mean, they could get both, and alternate between the two or something.

However, BRMB are playing the Kylie version, and Heart FM will probably playlist the Kylie version in about 4 months...

But, for what it's worth, I'm a teenager, and I really like Kylie. She was around before I was born, which is a bit weird, but she's had some massive hits even in my lifetime (that I remember well). It's not like an artist from the 80's coming out of nowhere and expecting teenagers to like them. I mean, most teenagers will remember when Can't Get You Out of My Head was massive, for example.
