Hi,

I have just registered and I'm aware there are 'similar' posts to this but unfortunately none seem to answer my question and I'm not exactly a technical expert once I get this far so any help would be appreciated!!

Last week I bought a Sony Bravia KDL40EX403U TV, and a Sony Bravia Home Theatre DAV-DZ330 to go with it. In general they're both amazing.. the sound's great.. the "Bravia Sync" meant they basically connected to each other automatically and now work as one..

My only issue is that unless I'm playing a DVD (which is built into the amp) I have a slight delay on my sound. This is whether I'm playing from Sky+HD, the built in freeview, the Wii, or even an MPEG on USB plugged into the TV.

I can't find any settings that would suggest how to stop it, but it needs to be more in sync.

I've got the two connected via HDMI.. I've got a cable between the Sky+HD and the TV, and one between the Theatre System and the TV.

Any ideas?!

Thank you in advance.
Ryan

Are you positive it is the sound that is delayed? It is usually the picture that lags behind the audio due to the extra time taken by the picture processing.
Any way bumped your thread

Just curious. Is there any reason you chose a DVD Home Theatre system, when you could have bought a similar Blu-Ray system which will also play DVDs?

I have a very similar setup with a Bravia tv and a Sony amp very similar also, as far as audio sync problems I have none with the Sky HD box as I use the audio output delay function on the sky box.
When you say there is a delay with the freeview,Wii and mpeg plugged in, is this when you have the sound processed through the tv then fed into the amp?

Which of course would make ryan's problem worse.
BTW I have a Sony Bravia KDL32ex503 and I pass audio from a Topfield and a Sony DVD/BD through it and I am not getting audio lag, (in fact on recordings from the Topfield I am still getting noticable picture lag).

Hi, sorry for the delay.. I expected an email when somebody replied! Ha.

Yes, it does appear to be the opporsite problem to the "usual" but it is definately that the sound is BEHIND rather than ahead, so the Sky+ settings etc are no good, and as quite rightly pointed out - make my situation worse.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

In answer to why did I buy the DVD.. it was £100 cheaper and I didn't care too much for Bluray.. I have plenty of DVDs already..
