I am using a Humax Foxsat-HDR box and have a question regarding the connectings between box TV.
My dish is connected to the two LNB sockets on the Humax.
The HDMI cable from the box to the TV HDMI socket
I have a Scart connection from the box to the TV.

I have been told by a Sky TV installer that I do not need the scart connection as I am using a digital TV and all thats needed is the HDMI connection.
I tried this but when the scart is pulled out I loose the picture.

Any help appreciated

Yes you can et rid of the SCART lead. The HDMI lead does exactly the same job. S

SCART will deliver Standard TV pictures
HDMI will deliver Standard and HIgh Def pictures

change your TV Input to your HDMI and take the Scart away..
Next time you switch on if your TV is Auto Configured it should go straight to the HDMI

Just out of curiosity would it make any difference leaving both the Scart and HD lead plugged in?

Due to a bug when the hdr wakes up to record it outputs a short auto scart select signal. If you happen to be watching something else at the time it can be very annoying You can disable this by removing a pin from one of the scart plugs but if you aren't using the cable why bother.
