Doesn't it normally give you a change list before you update?

Does on my mum's HTC Wildfire anyway

From what I can tell, the main change is to screw the messaging app! Since the update to 2.2.1, my Desire HD only notifies me of new text messages when it feels like it, and the other night the message app crashed, force closed and deleted all of my hundreds of texts (had some good jokes in there too, gutted )

Hope they send out another update to fix the last update soon...

I have a HTC desire. I already had 2.2 before.

Never mind hey, it could have been important work texts, unless of course you're a comedian.

Apparently it was an update for the camera app, but I see no changes.

No offence but glad it wasn't just me, exactly the same happened to mine a few days after the update i'm now not always getting text notifications and it also deleted most of my texts as well.
I keep hoping Gingerbread will arrive for the Desire HD soon but who knows what hidden bugs we could have there.

I've just had a post 2.2 update on my Wildfire. Came up in the notifications bar and said it improves media playback. Downloaded and installed all ok except it wiped every single app/widget off my screens, absolutely everything. Switched off and on and all back to normal but have to had remove and replace widgets for them to work. A bit of hassle but nothing major except I physically can't remove the clock widget and its stuck on the time at 20.26. I can add a new one which displays correct time but still can't remove the other one. Any ideas? I'm in the UK on O2. Phone now shows as android version 2.2.1 and software number 2.24.161.2

Anyone here know if HTC are planning a fix release for this text notification bug? I'm trying to remember to keep checking my texts manually, but forget occasionally and it has caused problems.

Does anybody know where I can download the 2.2.1 update? My phone keeps on saying it has it and should be updated, but goes part way and fails... it's been suggested I manually download it and install it - I know how to do this, but everywhere links to the Google website where the file no longer exists...

you could restore back to factory settings but you're going to lose your apps, contacts etc

Thanks tvtimes but ended up switching off then back on again and that seemed to do the trik, was able to remove the clock with wrong time and add it back with the correct time.
