Now that Britney has moved her release date to the 17th it means she will be against Adele for number 1. I did want Adele to be number 1 because her song is really good, rolling in the deep is released on the sunday. Who do you think will get to number one?

I've got a feeling Adele will be number one. I could be totally wrong, because I haven't even heard the song, and I don't pay any attention to the charts, but there seems to be a lot of hype over her recently. And I'm guessing she's doing UK promo at the moment, which would give her an advantage over Britney.

I'd rather it went to Britney though, just because I'm a huge fan, and because she hasn't had a UK number one since 2004, so it seems about time.

I think she may have competition from Avril aswell as her song is released on Monday. However it hasn't gone to radio here yet I don't think so I think that they be more of a mover up the charts.

Nah, that won't be much competition as she has released that as a free download on Facebook. I can't seeing it getting very high up the chart.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rihanna stayed number one that week. I can't see Adele getting anywhere near #1. I predict it'll go top ten and fall quickly. It is an absolutely amazing song but I haven't heard this played anywhere (I don't listen to Radio 1 though, could be 'A-listed' there or whatever it is they do, for all I know). I think her album will sell loads though. Britney could get #1 but it's only been available for a week, and we still haven't seen the video. I imagine once the video comes out, it'll shoot to #1 then.

Don't be so sure, its been at number 2 behind Britney on the US itunes chart all week and its radioplay has been increased and she released it there for free download aswell. Her promotion tour is still yet to properly kick in and the video is yet to be released! I deffo think she is a threat, though obv I'm rooting for her cause I love Avril! Haha

I think Britney will get it.

Even though I love Brit, I'd prefer Adele to get No.1. It's a much better song.

For music's sake, Adele should get #1.

love Adele!

but Britney for #1! and then Adele will get it the week after and Britney will remain in top 3 and then get back to #1 when her video is out and promotion has begun.

But Adele's album is only out in two weeks or so i believe so that will certainly be the first big seller of 2011 (have it on pre-order!) and 21 will also possibly be one of THE biggest selling albums of 2011. Whereas, Britney's yet untitled album will be out a couple months or so later in March, so the promo will be better then for chart positions. Regardless HIAM has done exceptionally well globally and deserves #1 in the UK, and Adele for certain will get it the week after and may also get a chart double with #1 single AND album!

I would dearly love Adele to get No 1 although I think RITD could be a slow burner this year and be around for a long time

That doesn't make sense. Adele is the good singer, but she's the one with the bland song.

Judging solely on the SONG, and not who sings it, I think Hold It Against Me should be #1. I don't care if someone is a good singer, if they make terrible songs.

But realistically, I reckon Bruno Mars or Wretch 32 could get #1 next week.

Think Adele will get it. Britney hasn't done any promotion, and the late change in release date will count against her.

Plus, Britney hasn't had a number one here in ages. If Womanizer couldn't get to number 1 with X Factor and a shit load of radio play, I'm not sure if this song can.

Not knocking Britney though, I am a fan.

I would be happy for either, as I am a fan of both. However I prefer Britney's song to Adele's, so I think that it should get to #1. I have a feeling that both songs will eventually end up at the top spot some way or another.

You can write like that and then call others stupid? Rude.

Adele had a number 1 more recently than Britney did.

Also it's worth noting that the last time Britney Spears had a #1 was with a song that she wrote herself. She wrote the piano riffs, she wrote the lyrics, and she created the melody.

It's about time that people started to realise that she isn't just some "pop princess", she's been successful with every album she has released, you don't last 12 years if your talents are of no value.

Britney for Number 1, I'd rather Adele's better song, Someone Like You, made it to number 1 than Rolling in the Deep.

Love them both though, hopefully they are #1 and #2 on release, whatever order doesn't really matter.
