I really wanted a red set so I took myself to Tesco after lunch and picked one up.

It is faulty out of the box about every 15 mins. it clicks and goes dead not even the front led stays on then about 30 secs later on it comes again, if that was the only problem I would just have it exchanged.

But the performance and picture quality are not good fair at best, viewing angle is very restricted which is not good as I move around the kitchen it may be worse than a Sony in this respect.

I realy wanted a red set though and I let my heart rule my head but I cannot live with this.

As Sony's tend to have the best viewing angles I would imagine it is worse

However, generally small sets do have poorer viewing angles.

yup, picture quality sounds about right to me....shame as that red one actually looks quite good with the red aluminium frame around the edge.

Not very inspiring having a fault straight out the box but chances are another will be fine, well fine but with the same pictures you've seen already.

What do you expect from a cheap crappy supermarket TV set?

Techica. Hmmm, *looks at his digital camera*, there's no middle way with them, either brilliant (like my digi camera) or complete rubbish (as ina Tecnica TV I once bought). Took the TV back to Tesco, told them that the picture was juddery (such as the rolling news banner on 24) so they gave me my money back.
Used the cash to buy a Bush 26-incher from Argos instead.

Look on the bright side, at least Tesco and Argos make it easy for you to exchange goods or refund, not like a high-street cowboy company I could mention. "You've opened the box, sir? Sorry, can't help you".

PS - the Techica logo must be the naffest logo in the history of the world. Shirley they can come up with something cooler??

Bush are no better really, merely an Argos owned name now.

I used to work for Bush, their stuff is garbage. Testing on the HiFi's for example was basically "Can you hear sound"? if so it passed, even if you couldn't make out what the sound was. I didn't stay there long.

I think Shirley might still ruing the day she had to pay back £12.3 million (small cahneg to them I know) to be worrying too much about a little logo / brand awareness issue

It's just a logo on cheap hardware, not a manufacturer. You could just as easily stick a Akura, Matsui or Saisho logo on them.
And don't call my Shirley.
