Some sort of external receiver or amplifier that accept digital input and has a headphone socket.
Maybe there's one dedicated to headphones rather than being a regular home theatre amp?

yup but to try and find one that wont cost £££ is not as easy as it looks :/

http://www.advancetec.co.uk/acatalog...a_headset.html

this looks like it would work but again for just the use of head phones looks a bit ott

Cheap reciever that decodes dd and has digital input would be the best solution. Junky headphones with a built in decoder marries the bit you need with junk.....

It's doubtful the TV will output audio via USB, those headphones are meant to be used with a PC.

Look on ebay for stereo receivers. I'm sure there's a lot of people who have decent kit for sale as they upgrade to surround sound home theatre. They'll mostly be 17" wide though.

I think you have to specifically look for a reciever that also has a dolby digital decoder, as tv's tend not to do that part. But cheap 5.1 recievers cost little more.
