I think the Joinery worked quite well on the street, it provided a good alternative to the Rovers

The Joinery seems to be jinxed. It's been burnt down twice now prior to opening!

Really? I remember Don Brennan crashed into the viaduct and exploded, and Maya crashed into it too xD

I hope it's reopened and another tram comes through it while Nick and Tracy are inside.

I liked the Joinery too - a shame it was nothing more than a plot device

It didn't work in that location. It just looked ridiculous. But I'd quite like another regular bar to open 'nearby' in Weatherfield as it was nice to have another haunt for the regulars.

The could probably reopen it and make it suit the street's decor a bit more

I fully expect it'll lie derelict again now it's served its purpose.

I didn't like the bar anyway to be honest, we already have the Rovers so it wasn't needed.

but it made more sense to see the younger crowd there and the older crowd in the Rovers

Who would want to go in it?

I agree it's more realistic but I can't see a story reason for having another bar in the street, and it makes the Rovers less of a central meeting point. But then the shop and the Kabin have managed to co-exist for a long time so maybe I'd get used to it.

I'll never understand why an alternative pub/club never seems to last very long in a soap.

The Queen Vic + R+R works well IMO.

Im still waiting to find out the conclusion of the investigation, they know it was a gas leak but will nick be charged with not reporting the fluctuating gas pressure in the joinery and and will the fitter (owen) be charged too?.

Pretty sure that isn't the case. It didn't burn down when Peter and Leanne were trying to open it, the venture fell apart due to Peter's alchol problem, and the second time around it had already been open for a couple of weeks when the explosion happened.

As I recall, Nick was visited by the investigating officer who told him that the explosion was caused by faulty equipment and that he was not culpable, which I think means that no one is going to face any charges, at least not among the cast. I think the rumour about Owen getting into trouble, as the builder who worked on the project, was speculation and wishful thinking rather than actual spoilers.

Contrary to the spoilers, it was actually The Flying Horse, which was seen on screen just before Christmas, it's possible they've built a set for it

It should be a Chineese or Indian restaurant or something similar, maybe a new business venture for Dev. Or is that to similar to the current storyline in Eastenders.

Failing that it seems a perfect size for a Fresco's Express store.
