Any Vengaboys experts here?
I was recently rebuying a lot of stuff that i enjoyed over the years and with that i bought some Vengaboys tracks on vinyl. My problem is the tracks dont resemble the versions i remember hearing. So i don't own their Party Album but i went and listened to some samples to see if maybe the single versions were altered from the album versions and it turns outthe album versions are just the same.
So where did i get this other version from? Here is an example. Here is the song We're Going To Ibiza. This is the music video and this is also the album version.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXXRHpVed3M The version i remember however is this version and i love the bass line in it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9H_W3-xHBg I don't think that it is a remix of any kind but if it is then great! There are tons of remixes out there on vinyl and CD (99% not online) but if i could find out what i should be looking for i can go and buy it. |

A lot of these late 90's Euro dance songs are hard to find online now. At the time the CDs and vinyls were everywhere and there were plenty of remixes. Now with places like Youtube being strong it is weird to see that these songs are pretty non existant. Maybe it was just an alternate edit or something but it must have a name! It must have came from somewhere.

If someone were a Vengaboys "expert", would they have the guts to admit it on a public forum?

Of course they would, there's nothing wrong with the Vengaboys.

the party album was first released with the other song thats not as good, It was then rereleased when the single was released with the pumped up version which went to number one.
The european releases contain the different version that you dont know and the uk one now contains the single version, but there will be some old ones out there. hope thats helps, but thats how i remember it. |

I don't remember your version and I really don't like it either.
I just listened to the one I do remember, god I can't believe I ever listened to that all the way through, what are you doing buying it? |

I don't think I could. I mean everyone has had a good boogie to their songs at a party even if they won't admit enjoying it, but I can't imagine many people wanting to claim 'expertise' on them.
