Seems to be a dying pastime. People now just make up playlists on their portable devices & listen to random tracks.

Do you still listen to albums in their entirety?

I tend to mix it up between listening to shuffle on my ipod/phone when I'm out and usually whole albums when I'm in.

I sure do but normally cd's in my car and normally albums from the past. Here's my current car list.....

Del Amitri - Change Everything
Glass Tiger - Diamond Sun
The Alarm - Change

I listen to every song without skipping. My MP3 player is different as I always have that on shuffle. But yeah, I still listen to entire albums and I always will.

Yep, at least one full album every day - usually two or more.

Absolutely, if you like more than 1 song why not buy the album instead of cherry-picking tracks.

I usually spin a CD at least twice all the way through while out on the road before I change it.

I love buying an album and listening to it in full. Cherry picking is ridiculous because some times the 30 second previews don't do the whole song justice. Currently got the new Adele album on.

Rarely actually, but then I don't have a basic cd player anymore. I just use my ipod when i'm out, or itunes on my pc when i'm in, as i have good speakers. So I'm a playlist person.

if I'm listening to my ipod on the way to work I'll have it on random (don't bother with playlists) but if I listen to it on the way home I'll usually put one album on and listen all the way through but it's normally something like Tangerine Dream, Pink Floyd or Bowie

It depends what mood I'm in. On the iPod I've got a few mixed playlists, but mostly whole albums. Listened to some great ones that have just been released over the past few weeks.

Very few albums are good enough to listen through to the end.

I'll often listen to full CDs when driving, as I can't use my ipod in my car.

And driving is when I most of my listening to music these days, so more often than not I'll listen to full CDs.

It's a fair point, if you're not enjoying the music you're listening to, then listen to something else.

I regularly get through full albums because I listen to bands that I know produce music I like and can fill a full CD.

Depends on the album. If it's by an artist I like and I've bought/downloaded the whole album then I will.

Always try to listen to a new album from start to finish at least 3-4 times, then decide what the best songs are to go on my MP3 player.

Couple of great albums this year though, like Iron Maiden - The Final Frontier, and The Pretty Reckless - Light Me Up, with virtually no filler on them.

I always buy whole albums from either amazon or itunes. I always listen to them all the way through.

II much prefer amazon as it's much easier & I detest the itunes application.

I still love to listen to entire albums, mind you I do have a lot of albums that wouldn't make sense if you didn't listen to the album in its entirety. The I pod has increased the amount of times I listen to whole albums because I can take them with me everywhere. But I try to make time for myself every so often to listen to albums as a whole without any other distraction.

Most of the time I listen to individual tracks, but I make a point of listening to a full album every now and again.

When I first buy them, yes absolutely and even before that, I've now got in a massive habit of previewing the whole album on Spotify first before committing to buy the CD, unless it's by one of my favourite artists that I buy every album of anyway.

I realise now that I play the CDs a couple of times when I buy them and then once I import them into itunes and then my ipod, they just sit gathering dust.

I like listening to shuffle a lot, just because I love the utter randomness of the music I have on my ipod, and the fun combinations it comes up with - (Kings of Leon/Foo Fighters followed by something like Backstreet Boys/Glee) particularly when I'm on my regular 3 and a half hour train journey to Liverpool but usually at home I'll be in the mood to listen to one album all the way through and regularly do so.
