I'm very disappointed and suprised by his absence in this category. I think his album is the best contemporary dance-rap album on the market at the moment. Moreover, it takes enough risks without being unlistenable which isn't an easy balance to strike. It's even more disappointing when you see the other males nominated in his category: Robert Plant - completely unheard of in 2010; Paul Well - again. what did he release which warranted a nomination?

Justice could still prevail however, given that `Kickstarts is nominated in the Best British Single category. Still, a miscarriage of justice nonetheless!

na his music is pretty standard and not very risky at all which is pretty much what happened to most urban-y type of artists when they realised they need to make radio friendly songs. but in saying that most the nominees for the brits this year make pretty standard music so he'll fit right in...

he's also got a bit of a big mouth which should only be reserved for artists that are groundbreaking so naturally he'll alienate himself.

I'm a bit disappointed he wasn't nominated for British Male.

He was probably too busy slagging off other singers to notice he didn't get a best male nom.

Not a fan but at least I've heard of him, unlike those other 2.

Him and Pro Green both deserved nominations in my opinion.

Everybody has an opinion though. I don't think he says any worse than someone asked for their opinion on the street. The problem is, we're too used to PR savvy popstars like Pixie Lott and Gary Barlow who are utter bores.

Weller released an excellent, and mercury nominated, album. A much deserved nomination, rather than this wet no-mark.

Well I'd rather support an artist who says drugs are wrong, no matter how squeaky-clean their image may be, than an artist who glamorises drugs by saying it makes better music.

That said, I do like Example.

Aside from both being legends;

Plant: Band Of Joy, which is commonly viewed as one of the best records of the year,

Weller: as previously mentioned Mercury nominated Wake Up The Nation, which received four star or more reviews by most major critics.
