And this is approved for use in schools? I'm talking about Yazoo but they're probably all the same.

Why do they need to put that much sugar in it? When I make banana milkshake I blend two bananas with 2 teaspoons of sugar and 500ml milk, tastes great.

I remember on Jamie's US school dinners show he said the flavoured milk had more sugar in it than pop.

Depending on the milk you're using, I'd reckon your own milkshake has at least 60 grams of sugar in it-- which is better, but still not ideal.

Surely a lot of the sugar comes from the fruit so your milkshake will have a lot of sugar in as well.

Innocent Smoothies contain just fruit and nothing else, but still have more calories than the equivalent amount of coke.

I bet they have more vitamins than coke, though

I believe they were drinking Horizon milk, it actually has about the same amount of sugar as coca cola (but since those little milk cartons are 8oz, and a can of coke is 12oz.. the can of soda is worse).

But of course Jamie doesn't tell the whole story. Horizon's 2% lowfat milk has 3g of saturated fat. The flavored milks have 2.5g. So you get more sugar, but you get less saturated fat... and I'd say the saturated fat is far worse than the sugar.

Normal milk contains carbohydrates, this will be listed and shown as sugars. My goats milk shows 43 grams per litre. your nearly half way there with just he milk, though I wouldn't say it tastes sweet.

They do. But i've read on here people saying they are trying to lose weigh so have substituted coke for a smoothie. Good luck with that!

Ah yeap ! I don't think of a smoothie as a drink, more as a substitute for eating a piece of fruit (or more )
Water is the best drink to clench your thirst.
