My other half did something really cute today. Basically we were having chicken in a BBQ sauce with onions, peppers and mushrooms, no big deal right? Well no, except my other half forgot to add the mushrooms so decided to put them on a tray in the oven. When we opened the oven 25mins later, they were tiny! The other half was mortified, but they actually tasted really good as they had a really concentrated flavour so we shall be doing them again!

Er ok, the result is expected right? You should try adding whole/halved mshrooms to roast trays

Well yea, but i hadn't realised they had been put in the oven so it was a bit of a shock when I saw them! . I frequently use dried mushrooms such as porcini in lots of recipes and the liquor they produce is beautiful, also portobello mushrooms on roasting trays with thyme and garlic, but these were just bog standard button mushrooms so they were really tiny when they came out. Still worked pretty well though.
