Standby Mode Powers off
Hi
I have a wonderful old Pioneer DVR-420H hard drive/DVD recorder, which when new in 2004 was ahead of it's time. Now I just us it to achieve the odd recordings from my V+ Virgin media box. The question is I have noticed recently that consistently in standby mode it powers off for a couple of minutes, then powers itself on again to standby? Is it a simple case that the power supply unit is on it's way out? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Thanks |

Could be something as simple as a loose mains lead/plug/socket.
Have you tried the obvious first? |

Sorry to dig up my old thread, I thought this maybe of interest my Pioneer HDD/DVD is now working for over a week.
How did I fix it now that is the crazy bit, it finally would not power up anymore so I changed the plugs fuse in desperation I thought a plug fuse were just a safety feature?

If not then that could be it. The fuse could be making intermittent or poor contact either internally or externally. It was just coincidence. -------------------------- As a curiosity have you tried putting the old fuse back in and seeing what that does now? |
