Hi
We have the above named dvd recorder. It's 2 years old and sometimes it doesn't read a disc at all, other times it stops as can't read disc, and in recording mode it will record some of the program and then stop saying disc error.
We just bought a skip disk doctor and a lens cleaner, neither has helped. Anyone know anything else we can do other than take it in for repairs??

Thanks
Roz

Yea its a well known fault with philips dvd recorders. I had the same recorder and 1 week after the warrenty run out it wouldent read 90% of my dvds.

Take it back to the shop you bought it from and dont take no for an answer. They are responsible for ensuring your product lasts a reasonable amount of time. Look at the trading standards website for more info, you should be able to get them to repair it for free.

I believe that Philips have extended the warranty on all their DVDR machines to 2 years because of faults like this. Be worth giving them a call to check the status of yours.
