Interesting - I'd say the opposite. I don't think Gaga is conventionally pretty, like those you've mentioned, but I do think she's beautiful. Especially when her make-up is more natural (such as in the Bad Romance video, or at the Brit Awards).

A star like Britney? In my opinion she's just a pretty dancer, who's had some great songs handed to her. Give them to any other pretty dancer, would anything be different?

They both have good voices, very different, but with similar ranges. (The lower register is better for both of them, Britney has used the higher, but I don't think I've heard GaGa use her's, she always seems to change the key so she doesn't have to

It's a true testament to Britney's effect on Pop Culture that she's around 12 years on, and still enjoying massive success.
You need some sort of talent to do that, and she has it.

She must have something over everyone else, and I think it's the X Factor.
Over the years, and especially during the breakdown, she reached fame achieved last by Princess Diana, or arguably Marilyn Monroe.

As I said above, I was just playing along with poking fun at Britney in retaliation to poking fun at Gaga. It wasn't me that decided to make it 'serious'.
I'm not one of the folk who seriously thinks Britney is talentless, but I don't think she is anything to write home about in that department. Her appeal is in entertaining. Regardless of who is the brains/talent behind the Britney show, she was a fantastic front woman in her prime.
Gaga's voice is VASTLY superior though. Technically speaking it has strength, control, tone and range that Britney has never displayed. Unfortunately Gaga often holds back on recordings, but when she's at a piano she belts it out the park.
I disagree that Am I A Sinner? 'easily' stands up to Gaga's best. It clearly doesn't. You may prefer it, but it's pretty redundant to even mention it because one Britney-penned album song out of the hundreds she's recorded put up against all the songs Gaga has written (including all singles) doesn't really prove anything.

After the huge success of her debut, and continuing after that, of course a songwriter will want to give their song to a huge artist, as opposed to someone who's not going to get their song as much airplay and sales.
I know the response to this will be "Then why her that got signed and that debut single?", and I guess you could put that down to an 'X Factor'. I'd personally say it was luck (just as it would've been down to luck that Gaga got signed - thousands of talented artists don't), but that's not worth arguing.
Of course she'll be remembered, I'm not disagreeing with that.

I didn't get that from anywhere, you just put the words in my mouth. I didn't say she had 'amazing' range.
Have you even watched the recent 'Speechless' performances? I'm sure you'll dismiss them to prove your own point, but they kind of defy your comments. Not claiming she's Mariah Carey, but there is a very solid voice there.
Who the hell cares if her songs aren't lyrical masterpieces? This seems to be such a go-to argument. Nobody is claiming that. She writes good pop songs. Squeezing some 'level headed' comment in opposition to a non-existant grandiose claim is redundant.
Britney hasn't displayed that she is a better dancer in years. She very well might be, but there is no evidence of it. On the contrary, it is in Gaga's defence. Like I said though, I don't care either way.
That video was actually quite funny. I still stay in Gaga's corner as she is the better of the 2. If anything, Britney is a cautionary tale at how fame can really mess you up!
