this year could be one of the best!

From tonights show alone, Brett, Jacquelyn and Sarah were all incredible, easily better than the majority of last year already, and we're only 2 and a half hours into the series! I was worried the show would die off this year, but I think it'll go the opposite way now!

I completely disagree... nobody stands out for me yet, but in a way I like that. I always wait until the live shows though until I decide who my favourites are (or some people really shine in Hollywood week e.g Matt Giraud).

I agree with you disagreeing

Tonight was pretty lame and last night was just ok really, I like someone to pop up from nowhere in the later stages too!

Same here and I find myself not actually remembering the auditions of so many of my favourites. Take last year, my favourites were Lee, Crystal and Didi - can't remember any of their auditions.

All the girls sounded a bit the samey to me and I didn't like the feminine style of singing from a few of the boys.

(Only seen Thursday show so far)

I can't agree. No one has stood out yet and it's having all the hallmarks so far of a repetition of last year's standard.

The young ginger guy tonight (cant remember his name) was terrific, my fave so far.

Best voice so far imo too, though I also liked Paris Tassin, the last girl to sing who is mother to a disabled child

Haven't seen anyone above average, the standard is shockingly poor and that's after the blatant autotuning and audio tweaking. Half the auditions are miming to a pre-recorded track. Makes the x-factor look genuine.

Although I agree that no one truly outstanding has come along so far I don't know where a pre recorded track would come in when they are all singing acapella

Wake up, you can hear studio effects on it, it's so fake.

I don't know whether they are using recorded tracks now on Idol, basicly I saw 2 auditionshows and then I got utterly bored and gave up. Nobody stands out for me at the moment, I'll just start viewing again with the beginning of the liveshows.
But back to your response: it can be (pre)recorded if its acapella.
For example : I feel the xfactor boyband one direction audition with 'torn' in Barbados sounds recorded ( I mean sea urchin Louis's voice is filtered out etc.)

My favorites this year have been Lauren Alaina and James Durbin.
