I read in my User Guide about the 'Slow' playback feature. Is this another known bug?

In what way might it be a bug?

Eureka! But what's it doing down there? I shall copy it to the One For All remote.

Thanks!

Id like a frame advance button, would be really useful for telling if a goal is offside of not but there isnt work and the pause has a second delay.

Isn't that because the format used for broadcast is not frame-accurate friendly? And even then it would not always be conclusive as in one frame the player can be onside with the ball just about to be kicked and in the next the player can be offside with the ball already kicked. The actual instant at which the ball is kicked is not captured.

This does have a quirk, if not a bug. If you are in, say, 16x fast forward and press << expecting it to slow down, it goes straight into reverse x2. Very irritating if you are trying to avoid the ads.

You probably know this already but it's easier to use the 'skip' feature and then possibly back up if you overshoot.

That 'feature' is certainly an annoyance, though.

You can pause it so you can frame advance. It really should be a part of a PVR, pressing pause again should frame advance and not resume play.

Another part that doesnt make sense, it takes several button presses to slow down the search.

Also theres no 8x speed either.

I wonder if bobcat can tell us.

Where theres no frame advance?
Why theres no 8x?
Why theres no way to slow down the search?

All very basic operational features that should have been included from day 1.

I only tend to use the X2 FF for the last few seconds after cuing it up with the jump keys as a way of muting the sound of the ads/bumper.

These are things that are quite annoying, but probably only get used occasionally by most people.

There were a whole raft of these minor niggles that were not addressed in the big update which was pretty disgraceful when you consider how long we had to wait for it.

I think this just reflects a general change in philosophy since the Japanese started outsourcing. The Japanese always aimed for perfection whereas European sales staff were always satisfied with "good enough". You can see the same trend in cars since they stopped being designed and built in Japan. The time when each product improved on its predecessor in every way has gone, and we now take one step forward and two back. Few of the niggles we complain of would cost anything to get right, it's just that they do not come to light until you have already bought the item, so do not affect profits.
