I have a soft spot for WCW Worldwide, Batman style splashes and all.

Bar Sunday Night Heat, it was the only wrestling for some of us and we savoured it.

The editing for Worldwide was just dire. Not a show you'd show someone if you were trying to get them into WCW.

I was a fan of World Championship Wrestling until it's final day, ditto ECW. Still am a fan of both of them.

I liked WWE heat I think it was on Sunday afternoons if I remember correctly. Are TNA broadcasting PPV's on Challenge TV or just Impact.

PPVs will be on Challenge, the Wednesday following the US broadcast.

Happy TNA is on freeview haven't been able to watch it in ages. Been enjoying myself watching it on Challenge.

Sunday Night Heat had ratings in excess of 1.5 million viewers on Channel 4 in 2000. Not bad for a recap show with a few matches featuring mostly low to mid carders. WCW worldwide hovered around the 700,000 mark... and that was when the promotion went to hell. Wrestling on W.O.S was still respectable decent ratings in 1987 when ITV started scewing it about and it looked so tired. Lastly, WCW appeared on some ITV regions in 1991. Proving popular they moved it to a weekend slot in some areas, then ITV started screwing that around and dropped wrestling again in early 1994.

The UK has a huge appetite for wrestling, no matter how silly or mindboggling. Only it has been restricted to many for most of the past 20 years. What those restricted people got was the B show of which ever promotion until now.

I reckon Worldwide could have had a higher figure.

Remember that Channel 5 analogue wasn't (and still isn't) available in a sizeable amount of homes.

Ah but what about when its a WWE PPV on Sunday (recorded to watch Monday), Monday Night RAW (recorded to watch Tuesday), TNA Impact on Tuesday night at 10pm, TNA PPV on Wednesday and WWE Smackdown on Friday...

It'll be wrestling overload!!

No need to watch wwe anyway. TNA is miles better.

I am glad I was not watching wrestling back then. That would ruin the show big style for me.

I have only been a wrestling fan for a few years so far luckily.

At least the Batman splashes meant you still had a fairly good idea of what was happening. It did go out at 7pm afterall.

Compare that to the pre-watershed edits of TNA for Bravo that cut completely to the crowd chanting instead.

The picture quality of TNA on Challenge is rubbish compared to Bravo.

Which platform?

On Sky i find it's a softer image - but theres less artifact blocking during fast action/lights.

i'm watching tna wrestling for the first time since. it seems ok, nice to see a few familiar faces ie kurt angle, hardy brothers and ric flair who looks about 80 now! but it seems like theres little atmosphere in the arena. not much shouting and hollering from the audience and generally quiet when the wrestlers are busting their moves

That's essentially due to two issues.

1) The crowd is very small in the iMPACT Zone.

2) Day-trippers. The iMPACT Zone is available to visitors of Universal Studios in Orlando - so theres people in there not even knowing what the hell is going on.

problem is anderson can't draw for toffee, the crowd was dead during his opening segment and most of them didn't have a clue as to what the hell was going on, the asshole chant was done by about 10 people.

The whole show looks cheap and poorly produced, this could be one of the reasons why people avoid tna, imagine the show in full HD........my god!

^Well TNA are making strides, They are taping shows out of the IZ this month and Lockdown is out of the IZ, and I've heard the tickets are selling very well for the NC shows later this month so I think more tapings outta the IZ will happen.
TNA did a record attendance in London, a solid tv rating this week and with the tickets for NC selling well, I think TNA are making some attempts to grow, about time tbh.

And Dixie said it's up to Sky whether they tape any TV or PPVs over here since Bravo wasn't able to do it. Sky have access to studios and they can film and edit shows here and it puts an end to the rumour that TNA are under contract to ONLY film Impact at the Impact Zone. If these tapings are successful then there is no reason why they can't just turn one of their existing house shows into a TV taping. Even if they did one a month it would be a huge step forward to getting Impact on the road more regularly.

On Sky. The picture isn't as sharp as Bravo and is a bit dull. I'm not going to bother with Challenge.

Personally, I think there is no difference at all.

It's all to do with your own tv settings.

I think the picture is worse than Bravos during the entrances when the lights are dimmed in the Impact Zone. I don't know too much about resolutions but i've watched MP4 videos before and they were far better quality than Bravo ever gave out.

will tuesdays impact be repeated?

No .. No repeats for this week are scheduled (the only time a repeat seems to pop up in the Sky listings, is at 9pm on Saturday 19th February (Given that the listings don't currently go to the next weekend, not sure if that is going to be a regular repeat slot yet, but if it is, then could mean that from then, Tuesdays iMPACT! gets a repeat on Saturdays).
