I think he will be alright to be honest. He sound like he wss confident. In fact, if he qualifies I am definitely going get the tickets for that session!
There is no way he could hang with any of the big Russians or eastern Europeans even if he made team USA. If, and thats a big if, he could pass all the doping tests, and made the tryouts, there is still the matter of the huge red X that his neck injury amongst others serious issues would become. Kurt can still go in the professional arena, and theres no doubt he's an awesome athlete, but its not 1996 anymore, and he's way past what he was then |

surely wrestling trials cant be as dangerous as steel cage moonsaults?
The difference is control. Kurt really shouldn't do moonsaults off of cages, but at least he can control his landing and protect himself. In amateur wrestling he wont have that luxury, and anyone he comes up against will exploit any injuries he has accrued over his years of pro wrestling. Fair play to the guy if he gives it a shot, he's definitely got the ability to do ok, but ultimately his body can't do that anymore, and there is a good chance he could get seriously hurt |

He's claiming that he will be doing a reality show around his trial process.
He has no chance. Too many injuries. Been away from that level of competition for years, plus he ain't clean. |

Also as mentioned before the relevant olympic weight classes are super heavyweight, 265 pounds and heavyweight, 211 pounds. assuming Angle's billed TNA weight of 230 is about right he's screwed anyway, the guys at 265 are much bigger than him and cutting 20 pounds and remaining competitive is pretty much impossible. In short, I've got more chance of making the olympics than Kurt. He's doing it for publicity. |

I'm of the same belief and mindset of you ^, in that people are just ruining Wrestling for themselves because they over-analyse everything. Reading spoilers, gossip, rumours, news is what totally devalues the excitement and usp of watching the product. People will look on the internet for who the 'surprise' entrant in the RR is, then when it happens, they piss and moan that its predictable and stupid.
Its happened with a lot of people, me included where we seem to think we should be on the booking team or creative and criticise the majority of decisions that are made. Imagine NOT knowing Sting, Foley, Chyna, HulkHogan, Flair, JeffHardy, MattHardy Diesel, BookerT, TheRock, Bret, StoneCold, J.R were going to return to TV in the last 2 years. How much more fun it would have been. iHaven't read a Wrestling news website for a while now and im going to stray away from them, because if i keep on with them im basically going to get bored and become one of those angry kids who is frustrated at TNA/WWE and VinceMc/VinceRusso and just vent at Cena and argghhh...id just stop watching. What's the point? Im knowing as much as the writers. iDon't know what a 'Smark' is, or a 'Mark', or a 'Smart Mark' or a 'Mark Smark' i really don't. I'm watching as i did when i was 11-16, with no knowledge or 'insider spoilers' and will simply enjoy wrestling. I like TNA, i like WWE, i like NOAH and im watching as a fan and not as an aspiring DaveMeltzer clown or a wannabe BryanAlvarez clown. |

I think in some cases people over-analyse and read spoilers because they don't enjoy the current product and want to see whats coming up to improve things. and in doing that they are spioiling for themselves as you said because they aren't enjoying it as a fan. Its a bit of a vicious circle in this case. The wrestling show I'm enjoying most at the moment is WWE Tough Enough, and thats just because i can watch it as a fan and i don't know whats going to happen, who will win etc. It makes for a much more entertaining show |

Just one note: a "mark" is you and I - the wrestling fan that a programme is aimed at. It's used as an insult by unintelligent people who don't actually realise that they too are "marks." My real name IS Mark, so it works both ways in my case. ![]() "Smart Marks" or "Smarks" refer to those that you detailed in your post - the "mark" that is privy to everything, and spends a lot of their time on the Internet looking up everything to do with Wrestling and acting like they are the big know-it-all when it comes to it. Many of them arm-chair book too, but I guess we're all guilty of that... |

Anyone ever heard of UKW ?
They're apparently doing an event near me in a few weeks, just wondering if anyone knows what the promotion is like. Apparently they are the UK's only TV listed promotion and have a show on Sky Ch 219. Can't say I've ever noticed it on the EPG. |

I've heard of them, but couldn't advise. They aren't 1PW or FWA, so...
http://www.ukwrestlingexperience.co.uk A website is the gateway to the world these days. And that website is laughable. |

The thing with TNA and I have been watching it, is the production values looks so cheap compared to WWE imo. The ring is really small, the arena is small, and there is the mat around the ring. In fairness WWE has a dearth of talent, the glory days of the early 2000s are long one : (

But, that's how the Impact Wrestling Zone is. It couldn't hold a bigger ring without the attendances taking a dive. Which is another reason why TNA should get out more. The WWE trumps every time with production, as they probably spend a million every show on just that, with the majority recouped. TNA relies on talent, and probably makes a decent amount from doing it that way. Roll on January. Once again, it's up to us to show America how it's done. |

Eric Bischoff on his Facebook has posted a link to the Monday Night Hot Seat, where he says there's serious interest in another TNA video game. He says "it's only a matter of time."

Just saw this. Quote:
This has since been taken down, but Hulk Hogan responded to someone on his Facebook page when they made a negative comment about him in TNA and comparing it to WCW with this amazing statement: Dig up Hogan.
Quote: That's good to know brother. But in reality it was a lot of you idiot fans that killed wcw with your lack of appreciation and support for everything we did for you. Funny enough a lot of you morons like TNA too. Go figure. HH Then hours later, this popped up: Quote: Something so evil to hurt me or my fans.I assure you I would never say anything so evil about the great fans that I love and have made my Career.I have nothing but love and respect for each and every HH fan.maby somebody that knows the INS and outs of computers can get to the Bottom of this and find out who is trying to hurt my fans and my career, thank you HULKAMANIACS nothing but love and respect. HH Then this: Quote: Hulkamaniacs - I have verified that my account was not hacked, and the posted screen shot was made by a person who was banned from this page due to abusive behavior. The screen shot was photo shopped, and the statement was NEVER made by me. You all make what we do worthwhile. HH |

^ This is what im talking about in relation to thinking and wanting to know anything and everything about the business. Be a fan, enjoy it and lay off the aspirations of being Meltzer's PA.

Speaking of video games, RVD did voice work for Saints Row 3, according to his Facebook. |

![]() And I'd strongly suspect when it's over in years to come Hogan in interviews will be saying the same kinda things about TNA that Meltzer and Alvarez do now, only he'll be blaming Russo for them not beating WWE. The more things change, the more they stay the same. |
