Does anyone really think Hogan gives a **** about TNA beyond getting his $35k a show? If it wasn't for the Graziano lawsuit he'd have walked by now.

And I'd strongly suspect when it's over in years to come Hogan in interviews will be saying the same kinda things about TNA that Meltzer and Alvarez do now, only he'll be blaming Russo for them not beating WWE.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
I wasn't really "Hmmm"-ing about that. More the similarities on both saying "go figure" in the space of a good few hours.

Does no one even watch the show on here and write about it? There must have been about 3 posts during the show and i think only 1 was actually relevant to the show!

A lot of people read the TNA spoilers on this board, myself included, so that limits the 'live' discussion somewhat.

Although in my opinion, I've always found the idea of commenting on message boards while trying to watch something - be it wrestling, football or a TV show - really rather sad.

I never understand it. Quite a few do it on a Monday night in the WWE thread and i can only imagine their not watching it legit. They must have the show in one windows then this site in the other because no way could i sit and watch a TV screen and go back and forth to the computer every 2 minutes to comment, i'd be aswell just going to my bed because i wouldn't be able to watch it properly and 9 times out of 10 that is exactly what i do and just watch it the next day.

Yeh thats a fair enough point but its been over a day since it finished and still hardly any comments or opinions on what happened, which i assume is what a forum is for..

What did you think of it?

Well i've only been watching the show for a few weeks so its hard to compare with previous shows.

I thought the most entertaining segment was the bully ray/AJ part but i am finding it hard to get into the rest.

I also think that sometimes they add swearing in just for the sake of it because they know WWE dont do it and are obviously trying to attract the adult viewers, but sometimes it doesnt add anything to the segment.

The ending was pretty poor aswell..

What did you think of it?

Foley has walked. Reportedly he was asked to turn heel and refused. Foley does not have the "just cash the cheque" mentality that is necessary to work in TNA. He cares too much about the product.

I found TNA a little hard to get into initially as well, but stick with it, in amongst some of the occasionally odd booking there are some moments of real brilliance.
You're right in that sometimes TNA go a bit OTT on swearing and blood just because WWE don't, but again you get used to it so stick with it.
In my opinion it has the potential to be a better show than WWE, its not there yet, but a lot of the right ingredients are there.

As for this weeks Impact, i thought there were actually a couple of really solid matches in Hardy vs Crimson, and Kendrick vs Kazarian
I did have a little chuckle at 'Sting' vs 'Muta'. the match wasn't great, but fun for nostalgia sake. Bit of a strange booking choice to have Young go over Anderson, it was a cheap win, but still a little odd

Mick getting fired was innevitable after some of his comments, but it does make a bit of a mess of recent storylines

Overall it was an ok edition of Impact, not a classic, but solid.

Foley's commented on twitter about TNA's small crowds at live events, hence the final straw. Not sure why he said it because he's the special attraction at many of the shows!

Foley being fired isn't a bad thing IMO, onscreen at least. I like twists like that and Sting should be poised to be the new Network representative as it's only a matter of time before Mr Anderson takes the title.

Not really interested in watching Sting wrestle thesedays, apart from the nostalgia fest of his upcoming "match" with Hogan. But then I'd still prefer a shoot between Warrior and Hogan at Bound for Glory

Eric Young, the bottom end goof prelim guy beating the No.1 contender for the TNA Title, Ken Anderson.

Mick Foley is a waste of space, cut ties with him or if they can afford to leave him sitting at home until September. Keeping him at home, at arms length and unable to work for anyone else should be punishment enough for him.

LOL.

Foley suggested ways to make TNA better.

These 'ways' clearly pissed off the people who continue to keep TNA how it is.

Foley decided to quit as a result. Foley is a great guy and far too smart for TNA.

When the words 'waste of space' and 'TNA' come together in a thought, Mick Foley is well down the list of people I'd associate with those words. I think there's plenty of people who TNA would be far better off without than Foley - e.g.: Russo, Hogan, Bischoff and probably Dixie Carter, if we're being honest.

Same ratings as 5 years ago, back when they had a much smaller wage bill and none of the so-called 'big names', plus worse ppv buyrates and worse house show attendance. The U.K. basically keeps TNA afloat, hence Borash & various stars flying over here pretty much once a month for appearances. TNA realises we're their most important market as this point, even more than the U.S. in some respects. Pretty sad state of affairs for a U.S.-based company.

Bottom end? He's the TV champion! People say TNA doesn't listen to the fans - yet Eric Young gets a well-deserved push for getting over with both the internet marks and the live crowds, and the smarks still complain He can do the business in the ring, he's not a Eugene figure. He's more a Mr. Bean character - an idiot with a touch of genius about him! I like him, both as a wrestler and a character, and many others do as well.

Secondly, it wasn't a clean win, so hardly made Anderson look bad, especially as he beat on him with Gunner afterwards.

Thirdly, it got a big pop from the crowd and I'm sure the non-smark viewers at home (of which I'll include myself in) got a lot of enjoyment in seeing the always entertaining Eric Young pull one over the arrogant Ken Anderson.

Fourthly, smarks act as though these booking decisions never happened before. Yeah, it's not like these ever happened during the Attitude Era or anything...I can remember Triple H being pinned by Scotty Too Hotty or someone of equal standing once, when he was the champion.

As usual, smarks reading too far into things - "Oh no, the poor non-internet fans will never want to watch Anderson/Sting now, because Anderson has been made to look 'weak'! Let's ignore the fact that it was entertaining to watch, Eric Young is massively popular with the fans, and it wasn't a clean victory!"

I agree whole-heartedly with an earlier post in this thread that said about how internet fans are ruining wrestling for themselves. Just enjoy it and stop over-analysing it.

Young is comedy prelim guy. The TV title means nothing as it's been portrayed as nothing. Pushing Eric Young is a nice idea, just don't have him beat your no.1 contender for the World Title.

Secondly, it wasn't a clean win, so hardly made Anderson look bad, especially as he beat on him with Gunner afterwards.
Young was the guy distracted and still outsmarted Anderson, making Anderson, the guy headlining your next PPV, look like an idiot.

Thirdly, it got a big pop from the crowd and I'm sure the non-smark viewers at home (of which I'll include myself in) got a lot of enjoyment in seeing the always entertaining Eric Young pull one over the arrogant Ken Anderson.
Historically, pops don't always mean money. Anderson shouldn't be made to look stupid going into a PPV main event.

Fourthly, smarks act as though these booking decisions never happened before. Yeah, it's not like these ever happened during the Attitude Era or anything...I can remember Triple H being pinned by Scotty Too Hotty or someone of equal standing once, when he was the champion.
Can't remember off the top of my head. Was HHH challenging for the World Title at the next PPV?

As usual, smarks reading too far into things - "Oh no, the poor non-internet fans will never want to watch Anderson/Sting now, because Anderson has been made to look 'weak'! Let's ignore the fact that it was entertaining to watch, Eric Young is massively popular with the fans, and it wasn't a clean victory!"
From a business standpoint, you've just made your PPV main event look weak making people less likely to buy your show. From a casual fan, you may think it's entertaining, but from a TNA financial standpoint, it's bloody stupid.

I agree whole-heartedly with an earlier post in this thread that said about how internet fans are ruining wrestling for themselves. Just enjoy it and stop over-analysing it.
At some point TNA will have to make money or it will die. Any competent business will not just keep losing money and except it. Panda at some point will say enough is enough. If TNA are successful, Panda aren't going to do that.
