000's

SKY and Virgin Media can give a very detailed rating on every single program ie was it taped, how long you watched.

They did it a while back in a sky mag for sky one (i think). I wonder if anyone has asked sky for there Ratings for challenge/Sky sports wrestlings shows???

Those ratings are quite low but not all that surprising as the episodes leading up to Slammiversary were poor, meaning Slammiversary itself was going to suffer despite actually being quite good.

I watched Impact (tomorrow night's episode) online as am gonna miss it on Challenge, and can I just say you're in for a treat. Some great promos and very good wrestling - equals last weeks episode in terms of quality.

Ah well seeing as most people don't have Barb boxes the ratings don't matter anyway.

Yup. AND, if "5 Hour Energy" is shown on the screen, they'll probably blur it.

Sounds like next weeks Impact may very well be unwatchable... for another reason, for a change.

Ah good! Managed to avoid spoilers almost completely. Just seen a picture and heard very brief details on the opener.

Really looking forward to Impact tonight! I've really enjoyed reading this thread too.

Looking forward to discussing the show on here, rather than arguing about the finances / politics of TNA and WWE like it was Spectrum Vs Commodore 64 in the playground back in the day.

I'll be interested to see what sort of buyrate Destination X does.

All the IWC go on about is how awesome the X-Division is, and how it should be the focus of the product, etc etc. I pretty much agree with that, but sometimes what the IWC say and what happens in the real world are two different things - if it gets a lower than average buyrate that pretty much puts pay to the idea that the X-Division sells.

Those ratings include people who recorded and watched the show within 7 days of it originally airing.

Little early to say 'TNA ratings start to fall', it's a single week, and up until now they've been consistently in the 170-200,000 bracket.

Anyone watch Impact Wrestling tonight? Also there was a ratings thread in the TV Programmes section and one of the guys there quite a few times posted the rating TNA got on a Wednesday morning, i guess he must be a paying subsciber to Barb or something and the figure always matched up 2 weeks later when it was released with Barb so i really don't think those figures take into account recordings or maybe they do. But the numbers definately matched up infact if the thread still exists and that poster is still there it might be worth asking tomorrow what Impact Wrestling got on Challenge TV.....then in a few weeks see if the numbers match up with the official release.

The ratings published on Barb include viewings of the progamme "live", ie. the scheduled slot on Challenge and any recordings watched within 7 days. That is a fact.

Wildmovieguy doesn't let facts get in the way of a good rant.

Yes, significantly more sometimes. The simple reason for that is that Bravo was a pay-TV channel, whilst Challenge is on Freeview. Word spread around that wrestling was back on FTA TV and so a lot of casuals tune into TNA to see the old favourites.

And now they're getting NEW favourites.

I do wonder what sort of difference Hogan/Bischoff have made, and whether if they'd not have arrived, if the product would have attracted MORE people on freeview.

I think the ratings would be substantially higher had Sky/Challenge promoted it much more.

See the problem is TNA have buried the X Division for ages and now they want people to care about it, even though they have told the average viewer not to care.

To be fair to TNA, they have put more focus round it in recent weeks in order to sell the PPV, but it will be interesting to see if those few weeks of promotion overright the months of burial.

The hardcore fans should buy the show, as the show from a wrestling standpoint should be a good one.

Another enjoyable episode last night. Respect to Abyss, a great monster character who says some good stuff too. I chuckled at his comment that he was going to destroy Sting quickly.....but not too quickly!! Shame he had to end up losing but I guess they are now building Sting up for some other story so couldn't let Abyss squash him.

Agree with those who have said that Winter and Angelina is the naffest thing but I suppose it has left Velvet exposed and vulnerable to various potential threats. Have to say I find ODB quite funny.

Impact certainly is a good show. I like the writing and a lot of the talent impresses as well.

It's good to be able to watch USA and Spike and see two different companies and both out there being entertaining.

Joker Sting is AWESOME.

He's been so boring recently that I don't even care that TNA never explained why he has gone crazy, because that promo he did this week was like I was watching wrestling 10 years ago and that was the Sting in the ring. I don't know what lit his fire in his belly, but right now I don't care if he's 50 or 30, his promos are superb. It was different from Punk's promo on RAW obviously, but in it's own way I felt it was just as good.

I don't know if it's just me, but i've found in the last month or so that Sting seems much better in the ring again. Wonder if he's putting some extra training sessions in.
