No surprise about your opinion on Kendrick being low. He's been handled terribly.

I know that but it seems like all the talk has been from Destination X. No one has even talked about Impact Wrestling, surely you don't all wait until Tuesday to watch it. It was a pretty good episode.

TNA UK TV RATINGS – WEEK ENDING 3rd July 2011

IMPACT Wrestling on Challenge
The UK TV Ratings are in for the week ending 3rd July 2011 and it’s further good news for TNA Wrestling on Challenge!
According to the Broadcasters Audience Research Board – IMPACT Wrestling scored a huge 236,000 viewers, for the Tuesday 28th June “BISCHOFF’S CRIMSON MASK” episode headlined by a Sting vs. Abyss main event.

Sting vs. Abyss: The most watched TNA IMPACT Wrestling Main Event ever broadcast on UK Television.
This is a new all time high viewership record for TNA IMPACT Wrestling on UK television. In fact the show scored more viewers than WWE’s RAW and Smackdown shows could garner – COMBINED!
What’s more is that the saturday night replay of the same score also scored an all-time high rating for a replay with 126,000 viewers tuning in.
TNA Xplosion, featuring a Magnus vs. Orlando Jordan “Xplosion Championship Challenge” match, ranked outside the top 10 highest rated programs on Challenge TV and thus i’m unable to confirm the exact viewing figures for the episode.
However the lowest ranked of the top 10, Play Your Cards Right, drew 114,000 viewers, meaning TNA Xplosion falls somewhere below that figure.
Here is the Top 10 ranked programs on Challenge for the week:

Nothing to do with that, I just don't rate him, never have, even as "Spanky". Such an average, piss-poor moveset consisting of nothing but crossbodys and dropkicks. The rest of the X-Division put him to shame. He was clearly only chosen as the figurehead because he was the best mic worker in the division not already in an angle.

Far be it from me to snip at ratings, but is getting 75,000 more viewers than a 25 year old repeat of bullseye really that impressive?
TNA is now literally available to everybody with digital TV (apart from freesat customers), I think these numbers could and should be much higher for the quality of product TNA is producing at the moment (which is awesome).

Does anybody know what the numbers were for WWE heat on Channel 4 back in the day, or even Nitro/thunder on UK TNT, or WCW worldwide on channel 5?

Comparing Impact and raw results now is pretty futile (not to piss on your bonfire OP), just in the nature of TNA being on an FTA channel, and Raw on a premium channel

TNA UK TV RATINGS – WEEK ENDING 10TH JULY 2011

IMPACT Wrestling on Challenge
The UK TV Ratings are in for the week ending 10th July 2011 and it’s further good news for IMPACT Wrestling on Challenge!
According to the Broadcasters Audience Research Board – IMPACT Wrestling scored a huge 216,000 viewers, for the Tuesday 5th July “Please Stand Up” episode headlined by a Sting vs. Scott Steiner main event.

Sting: New "Crazed" side to his character has proved a hit with UK viewers.
This was down 20,000 from last weeks all time high viewership record of 236,000 but was nonetheless a very strong showing. This extends IMPACT Wrestling streak as the top rated wrestling program on UK television to 14 consecutive weeks.
It would be appear that IMPACT Wrestling on Challenge is beginning to consistently break the 200,000 mark and rank number 1 each week on Challenge, something I’m sure both IMPACT Wrestling and BSKYB/Challenge will be very pleased with.
The saturday night replay made the top 10 again this week, with its airing on Challenge+1 garnering 30,000 viewers.
TNA Xplosion, featuring a Jeremy Buck vs. Shannon Moore “Xplosion Championship Challenge” match, ranked outside the top 10 highest rated programs on Challenge TV and thus i’m unable to confirm the exact viewing figures for the episode. However the lowest ranked of the top 10, Play Your Cards Right, drew 128,000 viewers, meaning TNA Xplosion falls somewhere below that figure.
Here is the Top 10 ranked programs on Challenge for the week:

6 IN IT TO WIN IT (TUE 1959) 141
7 CLASSIC WHO WANTS TBA MILLIONARE (FRI 2059) 135
8 BULLSEYE (FRI 2330) 130
9 CLASSIC WHO WANTS TBA MILLIONARE (WED 2100) 128
10 CATCHPHRASE (SAT 1831) 128
WWE’s RAW, posted 118,000 viewers, down 34,000 viewers from last week. WWE’s other flagship show “Smackdown” drew 112,000 viewers, this was up 16,000 viewers from last weeks airing.

Weekly Ratings Summary:

Thank you Mark i dont have the WWF/WWE heat rating. but i now they did very well and channel 4 and the WWE was very please at the time. it would be good to have both WWE and TNA on free tv as we now wrestling will do well as TNA have shown i use to watch WWF heat then they changes to WWE it had some edited matches from RAW and Smackdown which i enjoyed a lot and there was very good PPV. if i had a laptop back then i would of posted the rating for that to.

Thats a very precise memory you have there

Ok, so on paper its not even a contest, even after 6 months Impact isn't getting anywhere near what heat took in its first showing which is a tad disappointing.

But then i guess you have to take into account that was during a bit of a boom period.

I don't know, which ever way you look at it there is interfering noise and its pretty difficult to find a direct comparison to judge how well impact is doing in real terms in the UK.

Its been bobbing around the 200,000 mark for a while now.

You also have to bear in mind that Channel 4 will naturally get more viewers than a digital channel - even a Freeview one. And, like you said, there was more interest in wrestling generally.

I don't think TNA's figures over here should be a concern, to be honest.

No i agree, there is little point in reading too much into UK readings as they will ultimately have little effect on how TNA operate, except maybe a few more UK tours.

It was more of a general wondering about how people are taking to TNA over here. e.g. Is that 236,000 viewers good? Or is that just the ~150,000 that will seemingly watch anything on challenge who are just remaining tuned in all day long plus maybe a few extras who actually want to watch TNA? Are the people tuning into impact the same people who tune in to Raw? etc etc

Its just not an easy thing to answer without a direct comparison, which in itself makes the viewing figures meaningless

Well, I do. I didn't last/this week, but I normally do wait for the Tuesday broadcast. I'm not downloading/streaming it when it's on TV.

I have seen tonight's, as I mentioned a page back. Really liked it. But we've not to discuss that here. Yet.

This argument comes up time and again.

If the WWE want to be on Sky Sports, then they can deal with comparisons like this being made. Fans of the product(s) should realise that too. Money talks, and the WWE get a substantial amount from Sky to be on Sky Sports.

TNA are taking advantage of the freeview market, and it's paying off for them. The numbers don't lie, regardless of platform.

not to start an argument but SKY put TNA on challenge not the other way round.

plus with regards to wwe/tna ratings bable that goes on here alot,

TNA has the one showing on impact which is good for the bulk ratings as everyone knows that TNA is on Tuesday night and its the only time to get it.

WWE has 5 showings over 7 days of RAW, The week ending the 3rd july and including the 4th july showing of the previous week of raw had a combined rating of 4/5 showings at 244,000. Thats not a bad figure.

Sometimes fans look at the live or 1st showings of raw/smackdown and think thats it TNA wins in this "suppose" ratings war.

SKY have alot of channels to fill and wwe does help fill the time with alot of repeats.

Maybe if Sky didn't show raw live and had it on a tuesday night at 9pm whatever as there only weekly showing WWE might be doing TNA numbers now.

TNA should be more promoted in the UK due to the freeview access its got, May be the switch over will help more people find the product and force sky/wwe to move a few shows over there too.
