Depends how many people paid and how many got free tickets.
Judging by the strong crowd reaction, I'd say quite a few paid.

I'd have thought so too. It was plugged to heck, and tickets went on sale early enough. And I don't think anyone would have been disappointed. Pretty well packed.

I'd have paid top-price for that.

He was good, but having him as the champ of what is, in all but name, the cruiserweight/high-flying middleweight division just seemed at odds with the original spirit of it.

If you recall when the X-Division was first launched, it was pretty much a spot showcase. It moved on from there and became more of an ROH-type contest with the 'smaller' wrestlers doing their thing. When the heavyweights started playing in there I completely lost interest.

I think with the weight limit it'll go back to being a bit more ROH-ey - the BFG match was a good demo of that really - good story, good grappling, a few spots - a really cute mix.
ya i agree it should be a flippy floppy title which opens ppvs

the TV title should be pushed as more prestigious as it has real wrestlers compete for it,not gymnasts

Like them or loathe them, crowds love the X-Division stuff. The best thing about wrestling for me has always been the crazy, death-defying stuff, seeing these guys putting their bodies on the line for our entertainment.

However despite all that, I don't think Austin Aries fits into your definition of a gymnast, not a wrestler. I could very comfortably see him shifting into the main event picture, given time. He's a natural on the mic and has a very hard-hitting, technical style.

Anyone know why refs start gesticulating when a wrestler climbs the turnbuckle?

An enjoyable first match, comedy heel v comedy face or Austin Aries v Brian Kendrick. Nice to see a heel win clean for a change.

Aries vs. Kendrick wasn't "flippy-floppy". Aries' finisher is a bloody brainbuster, for crying out loud.

Get with the programme, and let someone drag you into the 21st Century wrestling world.

RVD gets the win over Jerry Lynn. Wonder if the hug at the end signifies the end of Jerry Lynn at TNA?

Crimson wins the triple threat with a pin on Samoa Joe. For me the worst fight so far, mainly because Samoa Joe was involved.

BFG was 7 years to the day since ROH Joe vs. Punk II, which was raved about at the time, it was kinda sad in comparison.

Joe just seems to get fatter every time he appears on tv.

Mr Anderson defeats Bully Ray in a Philadelphia falls count anywhere match. A possible botch by Anderson jumping from the turnbucke onto Bully Ray, who was laid out on a table. Anderson overshoots and finishes off Bully Ray with a Mic Check into the table. My favourite so far.

Velvet Sky wins an overdue singles title with the help of a ref swerve that was seen a mile off!

On a side note, Karen Jarrett, refs outfit, hubba hubba!

AJ Styles wins the 'I quit' match and Daniels turns tail and runs out of the ring. AJ while taking the ovation of the crowd on the ramp is then jumped from behind by Daniels and put into the ground. Daniels goading AJ and the crowd claiming 'you never beat me!'

LOL at the guy bumping to the other side and out of the ring from a JJ punch.

And that D'lo was the most over guy in that bit.

Jeff Jarrett calls out Jeff Hardy and we get an impromptu dust-up which is eventually broken up by security, the Hebners and road agents.

Ah, Hogan/Sting wasn't all that. Uncomfortable watching him take bumps on his knackered back.

A half-hearted Scorpion Death Lock sees Hogan tap out with ref Jackson James (revealed earlier to be Eric Bischoff's son) reluctantly calling for the bell. Immortal come out to hand a steel chair beating to Sting in the ring. Just as Bischoff is about to deliver the coup de grace, Jackson James steps in to stop it. James subsequently recieves a beating from daddy and Immortal. Their attention then returns to Sting who crawls towards Hogan and begs for him to intervene, face Hogan emerges and helps Sting to clean house.

Not a classic but both men bled for the cause.

I'm guessing they think the challenge sunday impact showing could have more viewers, given the number of DOG's for it tonight.

Kurt Angle wins by pinfall/screw. TNA dropped the ball on this one Kurt as champ is stale now and should've dropped the belt to Roode.

For me too many failed submission holds both Angle and Roode over used the Angle Lock and the Crippler Crossface.

Crap main event. Angle looked legitimately out to lunch, I'm assuming the constant crossfaces were just because they needed a move that wouldn't hurt his hamstring more.

Given that Angle has a legit injury, even more reason to put Roode over.

Really disappointing Main Event, especially after the chaos that was HH vs Sting, if KA was carrying a legit injury should definatly have dropped the belt to RR, especailly with the clearly ready feud with James Storm. Just going back to HH/Sting, what the point in the over the shoulder view of Abyss?? Was it to show he didn't help immortal???, just seemed a little pointless??

I liked the brief shot of Abyss (for a moment we wondered if he would go out to help Sting). I'm hoping that they turn him into a big loveable beast character who defends the victimised and stands up for what's right.

Immortal did all beat him up on the last Impact so it is developing but they may keep him within the group like a dog that they all abuse for a while in order to build up for the huge pop when he finally does explode on them.
