I got knocked out when I fell off my horse once, I didn't have to stay overnight. If the concussion isn't severe then they don't always keep you in.

It seems it was quite bad and they did want to keep him in hospital overnight - his ankle is also injured:

The director is probably just pleased to keep DOI in the headlines.
DOI has tried all the publicity stunts in the book already.
A once entertaining pleasant to watch show has lost it's way by turning into car crash TV.
I watch with the mute button on most of the time.

And you believe the Sun??Hes just been on TV and never mentioned the ankle?? ANd injury looked worse at time due to the amount of blood, hes got a cut above his eye and a graze on his cheek.

No I do not always believe the Sun, but I do believe he is very shaken, and he looks so in the photo. Apart from that, he required stiches and a blow to the head can be very dangerous, the symptoms often hidden. However, the main risk will be a loss of confidence and fear - such skills are difficult to learn as an adult when commonsense tells you not it isn't a good idea. Perhaps they shouldn't make him do such difficult lifts at such an early stage in the competition. I hope he recovers, he is a very charismatic performer with great stage presence - and clearly very well-liked by all. He would be missed.

I agree with you. I think he'll be ok. At least it happened early in the week. It gives him a few days to take it easy and recover from it.

I also agree about the confidence thing. As an adult you know it's going to hurt if you fall over. Children have no fear (although I'm struggling to get Evie skating yet )

Don't you just the media? Why say things are how they are when you can exaggerate to catch everyone's imagination?

According to report on DS Vanilla Ice "Cracked his head open" and therefore needed to go to hospital for stitches......

Cracking one's head open conjures up visions far more serious than a cut needing stitches...

Anyone bashing their head will be looked at for possible concussion, but unless they were unable to co-ordinate properly, most will be sent home with instructions to rest & be aware of possible after effects for next 24hours.

He's my favourite too (although Sam is clearly the most accomplished and he seems nice enough). VI seemed OK on Daybreak yesterday. He had stitches above his eye and a graze on his cheekbone but he played it down. He's tough. I think it's maybe dented his confidence a little, which is a shame. Probably if he does well tomorrow night, he will regain his confidence.

Fingers crossed! Good if he's playing down the injury as well, I dare say some would have milked this for all it was worth it - seems like the only ones milking this were the producers....
