DOI poor relation of SCD

I'm really not enjoying DOI, they've ruined it with all the stupid changes and the judges are now a joke. Plus JG is a complete KNOB. I don't think I shall bother with it anymore.

Of course the very first DOI was on the BBC, but they dropped it, obviously didn't see a future for them with it.

While I agree the changes to the show have been annoying I have to disagree about Strictly, I find it to be one gigantic borefest.

I agree too! The BBC have also gone mad with the SCD format since the start. Changes for Change sake. But I suppose the TV managers in both company's have to do something to justify their existance even if it does ruin the show.

I just wish they would leave things alone - except get rid of Jason and Alesha

Well that would be a start!

I agree, they seem to have taken on the American format. All show and no punch

I'm not sure about poor relation...I think they've practically bankrupted it this year. Maybe ITV want rid.

I agree with you. For some reason I just can't get into DOI this year. It seems to have run its course doesn't it? Up to now I haven't missed one show, recording them if I was out. I really couldn't care this year if I see it or not. I hope it stays on though, for all the many people who enjoy it. I shan't be with them though

I enjoy watching both shows, but I don't like the changes that have been made to either.
As many have said already reducing the DOI judges is barmy and just doesn't work. Meanwhile at SCD we had props galore that mainly just wasted time, and the "dance troupe" which I won't even start on as it could take quite some time

Totally agree, me too. Never watch and not interested in Strictly at all.

I agree - used to really like it - should get rid of Jason & Emma - both know nothing about skating. Don't think I'm going to watch it anymore

I loved SCD and last years was the best ever IMO, this years DOI just isn't living up to expectations for me.
Craig RH may be cast as the bad Guy but everything he says is tongue in cheek and he doesn't overstep the mark - Brucie soon puts a stop to that, Jason Gardiner is a nasty spiteful bitch and means every word of what he say, he has watched the dress rehearsal and had plenty of time to think about what he is going to say!
I think on Sunday it will be BBC1 for me and I may tune in later to the results show and find out who has gone!

Agreed- I like to watch the dancing/skating and in previous years I've really enjoyed it, but in both shows they've gone overboard with changes that just make them worse.

I disagree. I've never enjoyed Strictly. I try to get into it every year but it just doesn't happen. Give me Dancing On Ice any day.

I really love both shows but generally prefer DOI because i love Ice Skating so much. However people moaning about changes & it it ain't broke don't fix it I have to disagree with. Both Strictly & DOI were looking tired in their previous series & needed to be refreshed. Not all the changes have worked

Strictly was right back on form last year with one of the best series ever. It remains to be seen how the whole series pans out for DOI but generally I'm enjoying it so far. Ultimately it will probably come down to the competition & how exciting it is or otherwise and how personalities of the couples develop & come across. I think most people would say that series 2 & 3 were the best for DOI due to level of comeptition and couples involved. Worrying about any silly twists is probably minor in the big scheme of things but if TV shows remain the same old same old they just start to look tired I'm afraid and that happened with DOI last year.
